6월 대만에 이어 7월 홍콩에서 한류박람회 개최
[아시아경제 기하영 기자]KOTRA는 산업통상자원부와 함께 서울 서초구 KOTRA 본사에서 '2017 홍콩 한류박람회' 홍보대사로 가수 겸 배우 정용화를 위촉했다고 31일 밝혔다.
KOTRA는 대만과 홍콩에서 두 차례 한류박람회를 개최하고 중화권 시장에서 한국 소비재 수출을 확대할 교두보를 마련한다는 계획이다. 대만은 오는 6월 22일부터 24일, 홍콩 7월 12일부터 14일까지 한류박람회가 예정 돼있다.
KOTRA는 "특히 홍콩과 대만은 현지 한류인기가 높고 중화권 내에서 선도적 소비시장의 위치를 차지하고 있다"며 "우리 소비재의 프리미엄 이미지 구축에 좋은 계기가 될 전망"이라고 설명했다. 아울러 하반기에는 인도네시아(9월) 등 아세안 지역에서 한류박람회를 1~2차례 추가 개최해 소비재 수출시장의 다변화를 뒷받침해나갈 계획이다.
홍콩 한류박람회 홍보대사로서 위촉된 정용화는 한류박람회 개막식 특별 공연, 기업부스 방문 등 홍보대사로서의 역할을 수행할 예정이다.
김재홍 KOTRA 사장은 "중국 대륙은 물론 범중화권에서 정상급 한류스타로 사랑받고 있는 정용화를 홍보대사로 위촉한 만큼 한류박람회를 통해 경제·문화 교류가 더욱 활성화되길 기대한다"고 말했다.

KOTRA, along with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy, announced on May 31st that it has commissioned singer and actor Jung Yonghwa as the ambassador for '2017 Hong Kong Hallyu Expo'.
KOTRA plans to hold two Hallyu expositions in Taiwan and Hong Kong to set up a bridgehead to expand Korea's consumer goods exports in the greater Chinese market. Taiwan is scheduled to be held from June 22nd to 24th and Hong Kong from July 12th to 14th.
KOTRA said, "Hallyu is highly popular in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and they occupy the leading consumer market position within the greater China region. We think it will be a good opportunity to build a premium image of our consumer goods." In addition, in the second half of the year, it plans to hold one or two Hallyu expositions in the ASEAN region including Indonesia (September) to support the diversification of the consumer goods export market.
Jung Yonghwa, who is appointed as a publicity ambassador for the Hong Kong Hallyu Expo, will hold a special performance at the opening ceremony and visit the business booths.
Kim Jae-hong, president of KOTRA, said, "By appointing Jung Yong-hwa, who is loved as a top Hallyu star in the mainland as well as the greater China region, we wish to invigorate the economic and cultural exchanges through our Hallyu Expo."
