Jung Yong Hwa

Korean super popular band CNBLUE’s leader and main vocal is also a producer, actor and an MC. He was the hottest newbie in the industry with CNBLUE’s debut album released on Jan 14, 2010. Since then, his unique vocals and music creativity caused him a lot of attention and noteworthy awards. He has composed and written tens of songs since debut. Jung Yong  Hwa has been very active in TV dramas and variety programs too, his works include “You’re Beautiful”, “Heartstrings” and “Marry Him If You Dare”.

 

For the general development of the (idol) group, it is always a group activity when it comes to commercial product endorsements. Besides avoiding unequal popularity among members, the whole group together can also multiply the commercial’s appeal! So if the advertising agency invites a single member of a group for the commercial and related activities, it means a great trust in that particular member in terms of his image and popularity. In the Korean music scene, not many individual members of idol groups have solos CFs, one of them is CNBLUE’s main vocal Jung Yong Hwa. Not long ago, Jung Yong Hwa was invited by shu uemura China to be the spokeman of their lastest product, POREfinist Cleansing Oil. Yonghwa shot a short film and was invited to an event in Shanghai, very full of charisma even doing everything alone!

 

Revealing a Refreshing Image

In the shu uemura commercial, Jung Yong Hwa wore a white tee and pink cardigan, and with his gentle smile, the image is so warm and refreshing. It totally feels like spring. The advertising company explained their choice. Since debut, Yonghwa has been having this romantic and refreshing image that matches very well the clean and pure image of the product they are promoting. Besides stills, Yonghwa has shot an interactive short film, “Fresh Love”. Fans are asked not only to experience the clear and pure cleaning power of the product, but also become the cherry blossom girl that Yonghwa is looking for in the short film, building their unique romantic story with their star which is pure and pretty like the POREfinist Cleansing Oil itself. In the short film, one can see how Yonghwa is this man so in love with a mysterious girl in the cherry blossoms season. The video is very beautiful and romantic. Yonghwa’s hunnam image in the short film is very well received by everybody.

 

Flying to Shanghai to Find His Love

In the short film, we see the very handsome Yonghwa but not the “real” leading lady of the story, because it was set like that to let fans participate in the story. A fan can upload a picture and become the leading lady in the short film. In the end of the short film, Yonghwas received a postcard with a postal stamp from Shanghai and decided to go to Shanghai to look for his cherry blossom girl. It’s the happy ending of the story when Yonghwa appeared in Shanghai on May 14 for the endorsement event. The looking for the destined cherry blossom girl event attracted 500 fans. In a pastel color outfit, Yonghwa greeted the fans in Chinese. He also talked about his own story with shu uemura. He said he likes shu uemura products himself. As an artist, cleansing oil is a must use product after work, and shu uemura’s new line is his favourite skin care products.

 

Calling Himself Cherry Blossom Hunnam

Besides skin care tips, Yonghwa shared his thoughts filming the commercial. He thought his image matches with that man in the Fresh Love story. He was also very touched by the pure and heart warming love in it. Though Yonghwa appeared alone in the event that day, he was not a bit nervous interacting with fans, giving away presents, and even hugs. It was fan service overload!

He (L'Oreal GM) said that the spokesperson was decided by the staff. Yonghwa and his manager went to China previously to discuss the the issue. When the manager was negotiating, Yonghwa rested on the sidelines. He (L'Oreal GM) said that he has truly not met such a well-mannered idol before, and Yonghwa in real life is really very handsome! "
