용화가 7살때 가족끼리 스키장에 놀러간 적이 있었어요.

애가 형이랑 둘이서 리프트 타고 올라가다가 애가 몸집이 작으니까 스키하고 부츠 무게에 못이겨서 떨어져 추락할 뻔 한거예요. 근데 다행히 손을 잡고 있어서 큰 사고는 없었는데, 멀리서 지켜보던 저는 너무 놀라서 울부짖으면서 걱정을 하고 있었어요.

 

조금 있다 안전요원들이 오고 또 다행히 형이 끝까지 손을 놓치지 않고 잡고 있어서 큰 위험사고는 없고 무사히 구출됐는데, 어린 아이가 울고 있는 엄마를 오히려 더 걱정하면서 미소짓고 자기는 괜찮다고, 엄마 걱정하지 말라고, 나 아무 일도 없다고. 정말 참 어린 아이지만 이렇게 참 속이 깊고 든든하면서...얼마나 놀랐을텐데, 먼저 엄마를 걱정하고 위로해주는 모습 보고 참 대견하다...
제 아이지만 감동받았습니다.

용화야, 네가 연예인이 되는 걸 엄마가 많이 반대했었지? 그 이유는 알고 있을거야. 네가 너무 여리고 착해서 험난한 일 잘 견디지 못하고 무너질까봐였어.
하지만 엄마가 걱정했던 거와 달리 넌 아무리 힘들어도 힘든 내색 한번 하지 않는 정말 강한 아이더라.
언제나 스스로 자기 일을 잘 해나가는 모습이 대견하고 고마워.
앞으로 연예계 생활을 하면서 좋은 일도 생기고 나쁜 일도 생기겠지만
이때까지 네가 해왔던 것처럼 잘 헤쳐나가는 용화가 되어 줬으면 좋겠다.

When Yonghwa was 7 years old, our family went to a ski resort together.
He was riding the lift with his older brother, but because he's small, he couldn't bear the weight of the ski and boots,
he nearly fell. Thankfully, his hand was held (by his brother) so it didn't lead to any big accident.
But watching from afar, I was crying and worried, shocked.

A little later, lifeguards came and saved him as his brother held onto his hands until the end, thankfully.

He was just a little kid, but he worried about his mother.

He smiled and said, "I'm alright Mommy, don't worry. Nothing happened to me."
He was such a little kid but had such a big heart, reassuring me...
He must have been shocked himself, but he worried about his mother first.
I was so proud...Though he's my son, I was touched by him.

Yonghwa, remember how I was very against you becoming a celebrity?
I'm sure you know the reason.

It's because you're so delicate and nice, I was worried you couldn't stand the rough business and break down.
But unlike my concerns, you were a really strong person who doesn't show any sign of hardship no matter how difficult the situation you're in.
I'm proud and thankful that you always do a great job on your own.
As you experience the entertainment industry, there will be good times and bad times,
but I want you to stay strong just as that you've done until now.
