애국가 대신 '공연' 한다는 기사 Instead of National Anthem, Yonhgwa will be 'performing'?
Who’s attending the game?
A while ago we mentioned two K-Pop stars, CNBLUE’s Yonghwa and Miss A’s Suzy will be attending the L.A. Dodgers vs. Cincinnati Reds game in honor of Korea Night, now there is more up to date information regarding their attendance.
Yonghwa will not be singing the Korean National Anthem as previously stated but instead he will be performing. Suzy won’t be throwing the first pitch either, as the first pitch will be thrown by Park Chan Ho. Ballad singer Ali will be taking over to sing the Korean National Anthem.
The game will happen on May 27 at the Dodger Stadium. The first 50,000 fans in attendance will get a Ryu Hyun Jin bobble-head figure presented by Asiana Airlines. They will also be holding a pre-game festival at 6:30 PM, so be there early!

"용화는 앞에 알려진대로 애국가를 부르는 것이 아니라 공연을 할 예정이다."
뭐죠 이게???

From what I know yonghwa will sing the korean national anthem and Ali will sing the American national anthem. The above report has it mixed up.
-
Oh, do you have the insider info?
-
Wish I had insider info, I watch enough baseball to know about how they handle the pre game stuff. It is also based off the official Dodgers press release from a couple days ago. They did the same from last year from what I heard, the girls generation had one member sing the Korean anthem, then another member sing the US anthem and a 3rd member throw a ceremonial first pitch. So the article above had pretty much all the details mixed up in terms of who is singing what.
Dodgers press release:
"Korean national anthem performed by Korean pop star Yong-hwa Jung of CNBLUE who also wrote and recorded Ryu's entrance song and the U.S. national anthem performed by South Korean R&B singer Ali."
-
Yeah, that's what I think too. It's just that they only have Ali under "National Anthem"--perhaps they were only referring to the US national anthem here then?
-
Yeah, since the game is played in the U.S. they usually would just refer to it as the National anthem which everyone would assume is the U.S. National Anthem and Yonghwa they are listing his as performance because the Korean national anthem is not normally done at a ballgame so it would be considered a special performance instead. I would basically stick with the official Dodgers press release since that one gave specific details on who was singing what.
I'm just really excited about this performance, more exposure for him. I'm trying to figure out if I want to sit closer and spend the $ for basically one song or get seats a little further up. Decisions, decisions can't wait to go.
-
Yes. I think your point makes the most sense. Thanks for your wisdom! :)
So happy for you that you're going ^^

(ˇʃƪˇ) (ˇʃƪˇ) (ˇʃƪˇ) it will be like this Thanks for infos

Thank you heich and kayla. Your conversation reminded me that in a cross-cultural environment, we have to understand the other culture in order to avoid misunderstanding!! I learn from Yong Hwa his good attitude and learn from his fans too. ^_^
-
Your welcome, and I agree that yonghwa has a great attitude and it is one of the things I love about him.
-
Thanks for the update"!!
-
i hope yonghwa can still sing the national anthem, it is a big break for him. thanks kayla and heich for your convo. it enlighten me :D
-
Glad it helped and I don't think you have to worry, he will definitely sing the korean national anthem especially since they put it in the press release.
Now if Ryu is pitching I would love if they get yonghwa to sing his entrance song live. That would be awesome, lol need to petition for that if Ryu is scheduled to pitch that day. Dodgers shouldn't miss the opportunity especially since the singer is already there. :) -

오늘 업데이트된 공홈 스케줄에 '애국가 제창' 이라고 떴네요~
FNC updated Yonghwa's schedule today and it says he'll be singing the Korean national anthem. :)
(Shame on you, 247 media...)
좀 이상한게, 내용 출처가 다저스인데...바로 어제 금요일에 나온 보도자료에서는 용화가 애국가 제창으로 떴었고, 토요일인 굳이 오늘 프레스 팀이 출근해서 새 내용을 배포할 거 같진 않거든요? 다저스 홈피에도 기존 보도자료만 있고... 월요일까지 한번 기다려봐야 할 듯;
Come to think of it, although they cite the source as "LAD", the Press release from just yesterday said Yonghwa would sing the Korean national anthem. It doesn't make sense that the press relations personnel released another information on Saturday when they don't work?... The LAD website still just has the older press release posted. Maybe we can wait until Monday to find out what's going on.
