【E】 "피터 말릭, 따뜻한 사람…'27 years'는 추억 담긴 곡" Peter Malick is a Warm-hearted man..."27 Years" is a Song of Reminiscence

Singer Jung Yonghwa reflected on working with Peter Malick.

At the showcase for “One Fine Day” held on Jan 19 at Maria Callas Hall in Seoul, he remarked, “In May last year, when I went to Los Angeles to support the LA Dodger Hyunjin Ryu, I visited Peter Malick’s studio thanks to an introduction by an acquaintance.”

He recollected, “I thought American artists would work in huge studios, but he was working in a studio that was the size of a room. There were acoustic and electric guitars placed in the corner. It felt very warm and cozy that his daughter was around him. Listening to his songs, I had such a kind impression of him.”

On working on “27 years” with Malick, Jung explained, “I thought, 'When a warm-hearted person writes music, the song comes out the same way.' When I requested that I’d like to work with him, he eagerly accepted. As soon as I returned to Korea, we exchanged demos and wrote it together. From the beginning, I thought it’d be nice to include my own story.”

He added, “I wrote the lyrics very fast. After spending time with my family at a Japan tour, I returned home alone wrote it in a breeze. Reminiscing the past 27 years, there were tough times that made me wonder whether this is my way. When I was little, there was no such worries. I wrote this song in memory of such times."
