【E】씨엔블루가 FNC콘서트에서 ‘외톨이야’를 안부른 이유 The reason CNBLUE didn’t sing ‘I’m a Loner’ at the FNC concert

The reason CNBLUE didn’t sing ‘I’m a Loner’ at the FNC concert
At ‘FNC Kingdom in Seoul’ concert, CNBLUE didn’t sing their biggest hit song, “I’m a Loner.” In addition to the rhythmical “Loner,” they didn’t sing “Intuition” either.
At the late-night afterparty which followed the FNC Kingdom family concert, a curious staff asked Jung Yonghwa why they didn’t sing “Loner.”
“We’ve sung ‘Loner’ too many times already. It might seem redundant.”
To show a new dimension, CNBLUE removed their early hits from the repertoire at the family concert. This was in order to showcase that they continue to create and sing new music. “I’m a Loner” and “Intuition” are early hit songs written by Kim Dohoon. CNBLUE filled all of their 9 songs that day with the members' own compositions.
Perhaps the fact that they didn’t sing CNBLUE’s top hits at the concert attests to their will to show CNBLUE’s own musical color as well as the confidence they have in it. Though a visually appealing idol group that has been produced, CNBLUE is nevertheless broadening their musical horizon as a rock band.
Aside from “Blind Love,” written and composed by Lee Jong Hyun, the other 8 songs are all composed and written by Jung Yonghwa himself. With “Can’t Stop,” Jung powerfully captivated the entire audience at once.
Playing the keyboard, Jung Yonghwa showcased “feeling” as the first song. Sounding modern and dandy, it was very neat. Followed by Jong Hyun’s fast guitar riffs, dynamic and grand sounds from tracks with trendy melodies such as “Diamond girl,” “Coffee Shop,” “I’m sorry,” “Lady,” and “Try again smile again” displayed both musicality and mass appeal.
Jung Yonghwa commanded the keyboard and the guitar at ease, sweeping the whole stage. Wearing jeans and a denim shirt with pretty shiny gray sneakers, the collar and the back of Jung’s shirt became soaked in sweat over time. It was the first time that I realized that a man’s beads of sweat could be as gorgeous.

I'm happy they are trying to showcase their own compositions but I do wish that they vary their set list to play some of their older self compositions in addition to a few concert favourites. E.g. Tattoo, Y,Why, Still in Love, Rock n Roll, Run etc. etc. Considering within 1 year there is his solo con, CNBLUE con, FNC family con and sometimes Summer Sonic, surely there is enough avenue for him to play different songs on each occasion so that we get to enjoy all his beautiful creations.
Thanks for the translation, nice review. -
So agree with you, Rock & Roll and Run are such a fun song to sing & dance along.
-
I would want to hear them sing Run, Rock n Roll, Let's Go Crazy, Love Revolution, Ready N Go and Tattoo too ! I miss their old happy songs and YH's sexy dance while singing Tattoo xD

Yonghwa, you just always make me overwhelmed!!!
-
Yeah.. Have always love YongHwa's songs compositions.. Thanks for the translation ^ ^
-
that last line tho hahha
-
Thanks for the trans! It's good to hear they are stepping towards their band goal slowly but surely. One step at time. It made me smile to read Yonghwa can seduce both sexes with his DSM sweaty look. It reminded me of his childhood friend saying they realized he is handsome coz even the boys looked back at him.
