‘여자여자해’라는 제목과 가사를 보았을 때 당황스러웠다. 단어를 반복하는 것이 요즘 트렌드라지만 ‘여자여자’의 정체를 알 수가 없기 때문이었다. 그렇지만 이 문제적인 노래를 듣지 않고 넘겼다면 좀 아쉬웠을 것이다. 가사보다 사운드에 집중하자면, ‘여자여자해’는 그루브를 타기 쉬운 여름 노래다. 겅중겅중 리듬 위를 타고 노는 정용화의 보컬은 에너제틱하고 유머러스하다. 그의 다양한 얼굴은 수록곡에서도 들을 수 있다. 스윗함이 두드러지는 ‘딱 붙어’, 감각적인 딥하우스 트랙인 ‘Password’, 담담한 메시지가 돋보이는 ‘Navigation’에서부터 ‘널 잊는 시간 속’까지 매끄럽게 이어지는 정서는 모두 정용화가 지금 보여줄 수 있는 카드다. 지금 대중에게 먹힐 만한 신선한 장르와 소재를 많이 고민한 앨범 같다. 그러니 콘텐츠 속 문제점을 비판하다가도 즐기게 된다. 상당히 길티 플레저같은 곡, 그리고 앨범이다.

I was perplexed when I saw the title and the lyrics of "That Girl." Though it's a trend to repeat words, I wasn't sure what "womanly woman" meant. But it would have been a loss if I hadn't listened to this problematic song. If I focus more on the sound than the lyrics, "That Girl" is a nice groovy summer tune. Playfully riding on the rhythms, Jung Yonghwa's vocals are energetic and humorous. His diverse facets can be heard in the subsequent tracks as well. From "Closer" which accentuates sweetness to the sensible deep house track "Password," and lyrically composed "Navigation" and "Lost in Time," these smooth sentiments are the cards that Jung Yonghwa can show right now. It sounds like an album that contemplated much over the kind of fresh genres and themes that would would work well for the present day's general public. That makes me enjoy it, even as I was critical of the issues of its content. The track and the album itself are quite a guilty pleasure.
