씨엔블루 CNBLUE [Present]

충분히 긍정적으로 바라볼 만한 앨범이다. 첫 곡 ‘One More Time’의 흡수력, 상큼한 진행으로 설득력을 높여낸 ‘Lady’ 등, 첫 두 곡만 들어봐도 그들의 멜로디가 제법 즐길만한 수준임을 인정하지 않을 수 없을 것이다. 특히 펑키(funky)한 진행을 적극 살린 ‘Lady’의 성취가 만족스럽다. 그러나 ‘Come On’처럼 해외의 누군가를 자동연상케하는 헤비 넘버보다는 ‘Lady’나 팝 록 ‘Let Me Know’ 같은 곡과 정용화 보컬의 매치가 더 잘 어울린다는 점만큼은 지적하고 싶다. 이 앨범은 일본에서 발표한 자작곡으로 구성된 스페셜 형식의 베스트라고 한다. 이제는 라이브 실력에 대한 논란도 잠재웠으니 앞으로는 조금 더 ‘밴드다운’ 활동을 이어나가기를 바라본다.

It's an album that fully deserves a positive review. The first track "One More Time" absorbs (the listeners) and the refreshing progression of "Lady" increasingly entices. Just by hearing these first two tracks, you'd have to admit that their melodies are quite enjoyable. The accomplishment of "Lady" is especially satisfactory as it ardently accentuates funky elements. However, I'd have to point out that rather than heavy numbers like "Come On", which automatically reminds of certain someone overseas, "Lady" or a pop rock tune "Let Me Know" matches Jung Yonghwa's vocals much better. This is a special format of a best album that consists of self-compositions released in Japan. Now that they've quelled controversy over their live performance skills, I hope they would continue more "band-like" activities from now on.
