【E】멜론 인사이드피플-PRESENT 인터뷰 (용화) Melon Inside People - Present (Yonghwa)

CNBLUE의 일본 베스트 앨범 [PRESENT]가 26일 발매 된다. 앨범 소개를 하자면?

용화 : 지금까지 냈던 일본 앨범 중 자작곡을 엄선하여 10곡을 담았다. 'Lady'나 'One More Time'의 경우 가장 최근 앨범에 속하는 곡인데 그런 곡들까지 모두 담았다. 

특별한 에피소드가 있는 곡이 있다면?

용화 : 글쎄. 곡에 대한 에피소드는 아니지만 원 모어 타임 뮤직비디오 촬영 때가 생각난다. 옥상에서 촬영하는 씬이 있었는데 비가 오고 바람이 너무 많이 불었다. 결국 감독님이 그런 느낌으로 촬영하자고 해서 비를 맞으며 촬영했던 기억.

타이틀곡 'Lady'는 어떤 곡인가?

용화 : 일본에서 발표한 6번째 싱글의 타이틀 곡이었다. 제 자작곡으로 현대적인 사운드로 재해석한 70년대 디스코 풍의 곡이다. 한국에서는 보여준 적이 없던 스타일 같은데, 가볍게 즐길 수 있는 곡이니 연말 파티에 많은 사랑 부탁드린다. (웃음) 

그 외에 추천하고 싶은 곡을 하나씩 꼽자면?

용화 : 좋은 곡들이 많지만, 'Greedy Man' 도입부 어쿠스틱 기타가 돋보이는 가볍게 들을 수 있는 곡이다. 수록곡이었는데도 반응이 좋았던 곡이다. 한국 팬분들도 많이 좋아해주시고.

앨범 활동이 없는 앨범이다. 컴백은 언제쯤?

용화 : 지금은 드라마 촬영으로 바쁘지만 틈틈이 곡 작업도 계속 하고 있으니 기다려달라.

CNBLUE's Japan Best Album [PRESENT] will be released on the 26th. Can you introduce the album?

YH: We carefully selected our self-compositions among our Japanese albums released so far. "Lady" and "One More Time" are from the most recent album, so even those songs are all in here.

Is there a track with any special episode?

YH: Well, it's not about the song itself but during the filming of "One More Time" MV, there was a scene where we were shooting on rooftop. It rained and the gust was so strong. The director wanted that kind of feeling, so we shot it in the rain. 

Can you talk about the title track "Lady"?

YH: It was the title track of our 6th Japanese single. It's my composition and a modern reinterpretation of 70's disco style. I think it's a style that I haven't showcased in Korea. It's a lightly enjoyable song, so I hope it's loved at end-of-year parties.

Please pick another track that you'd like to recommend.

YH: Though there are many good songs, 'Greedy Man'. It's an easy-listening song with an accentuated acoustic guitar in the intro. It received many positive responses despite not being the title track. Many Korean fans loved it too.

You won't be promoting this album. When will be your comeback?

YH: I'm busy with the filming of the drama at the moment, but I'm working on writing music between breaks, please wait for us.

정용화에게 어울리는 꽃은 무엇일까? 한참을 고민한 후에 밴드의 꽃이라는 보컬을 맡고 있는 그에게 백합을 들려주기로 했다. 왠지 자상하고 다정한 그에게 왠지 백합이 들려 있는 모습을 보고 싶었다. 백합과 함께한 정용화는 언제나처럼 빛이나 백합이 보이지 않을 정도. 왠지 백합에게 미안해졌다면 지나친 농담인걸까. (웃음) 

Which flower would be suitable for Jung Yonghwa? After pondering for a while, we decided to give him lily, since he's the vocal, the flower of the band. For some reason, we wanted to see lily in the hands of someone as gentle and nice as him. With lily, Jung Yonghwa shined as always, almost shadowing the lily. Is it too far fetched to say if I'm sorry to the lily? (laughs)

드라마 촬영으로 바쁜 가운데 시간을 내어 촬영에 임했다. 가을 남자로 변신한 정용화. 심플한 바바리 코트와 그레이 티셔츠 하나로도 이정도의 분위기를 낼 수 있는 건 정용화만이 가진 능력일 것이다. 언제나 그 만이 가진 밝은 기운으로 비가왔던 그날의 날씨와 달리 촬영장 분위기는 화창했다는 이야기가. 

He took time off in the middle of busy filming schedule. Jung Yonghwa turned into a man of autumn. To exude this kind of atmosphere just with a simple trench coat and a gray t-shirt, it's an ability only Jung Yonghwa has. Unlike the rainy weather on that day, with the bright energy exclusively owned by him, the atmosphere on set was sunny.
