Jung Yonghwa, a Man who Empathizes with Music
Sentimental collaboration project, “Empathy”
Collaboration albums always give us refreshing inspirations. Especially in the case of music produced by unexpected joining of musicians, they magnify each other’s appeal for a synergetic effect. Released shortly ago, “Empathy” is a project album by CNBLUE’s member Jung Yonghwa and singer-songwriter Sunwoo Jung-A which includes songs that harmonized their emotions, ’Hello’ and ‘Fireworks’. The two musicians whose composition skills have been well acknowledged, Jung Yonghwa and Sunwoo Jung-A, expressed their inspiration from each other into different styles of music. Jung Yonghwa’s composition, ‘Hello’, is a melodic ballad that expresses in calm yet warm ways the memories of past love. Filmed in one take, the music video showcases distinct color palette and the two singers’ romantic acting. The beautiful harmony created by these two different vocals captures listeners’ hearts. SWJA’s composition ‘Fireworks’ is a trendy dance pop that likens the feeling of admiration and affection, as well as the passionate moments of love to the splendor of fireworks. The heart-throbbing sound of love is expressed through drums, and the dramatic melody presented by the piano and synth sounds are impressive.
Album that holds diverse hues, “Colors”
CNBLUE, where Jung Yonghwa is a member, is a group active in both Korea and Japan. The 4th full album “Colors”, released in September 2015, was ranked no.1 on the Oricon chart and consists entirely of the members’ compositions. Jung Yonghwa’s self-composition ‘Supernova’ and ‘Lucid Dream’ written/composed by Lee Jonghyun reveal CNBLUE members’ multifaceted dimensions and styles of music. This month on Asiana planes, you can listen to tracks in “Colors”, ’Supernova’ and ‘Hold My Hands’.
