커피와 함께 씨엔블루의 새 앨범 ‘7℃N’ 이야기도 빼놓을 수 없겠죠?
Q. 오늘 마신 커피 원두 맛은 어땠는지?
A. 콜롬비아 원두 아주 맛있었습니다. 제 스타일이에요.
Q. 평소 모카포트로 커피를 추출한다는데 어떻게 접하게 되었는지, 맛은 어떻게 다른지?
A. 작년 프랑스에 두 달 정도 드라마 촬영 갔을 때, 몽생미셸이라는 지역에 한 달 간 있었는데요. 그 곳은 아이스 아메리카노가 흔치 않아 쉽게 구할 수 없었어요. 중간에 잠시 한국에 들어왔을 때 좋아하는 원두를 직접 사뒀다가 프랑스에 가져가서 직접 갈아 모카포트로 아이스 아메리카노를 해먹었습니다. 즐겨먹는 커피 맛과 가장 비슷해서 행복했던 기억이 있네요.
Q. 오늘 만들어본 커피에 이름을 붙여준다면?
A. 용스프레소!
Q. 혹시 커피를 마시면서 음악적인 영감도 얻는지?
A. 음악 작업할 때 늘 커피를 먹고 있기 때문에 당연히 영감을 얻죠. ‘커피숍(Coffee Shop)’ 등 커피 마시면서 만든 곡들이 많습니다.
Q. 이번 앨범 ‘7℃N’ 중 본인의 자작곡이 총 3곡 들어간다. 각각 어떤 생각을 하면서 이 곡을 썼는지, 어떤 것에 비유할 수 있는지 짧게 한 마디 한다면?
-타이틀 곡 ‘헷갈리게 (Between Us)’는 퓨전요리. 외국 작곡가와 협업하면서 정말 재미있게 쓴 노래예요.
-‘잇츠 유(It’s You)’는 솜사탕이요.
달콤하고 보기에도 귀엽고 그런 느낌이에요. 가사 같은 경우 시작하는 연인들에 대해서 생각을 많이 했습니다. 제 전문 분야예요. 공감대 형성을 잘 하는 것 같아요.
-‘로얄 럼블(Royal Rumble)’은 탄 소고기 같아요.
기름지고 맛있지만 쓴 맛이 있어요. 7년 동안의 연예계 생활, 활동하면서 느끼는 감정을 담았다고 할까요?
Q. 이번 타이틀곡 ‘헷갈리게’가 본인의 자작곡이다. 커피로 치면 어떤 원두인지?
A. 단맛으로 시작해서 끝 맛은 쓴 원두요. 곡 분위기 전개 상 그래요. 여러 가지 맛이 나는!
Q. 커피 마니아 정용화로서 마지막으로 한 마디.
A. 커피를 좀더 배워서 팬 분들께 직접 커피를 내려드리고 싶습니다.

Q. How was the taste of your coffee beans today?
A. The Columbian beans were very nice, it's my style.
Q. I hear you usually make coffee with a moka pot, how did you learn about it and how does it taste different?
A. Last year, when I went to France to film a drama for two months, I stayed at a location called Mont Saint-Michel for a month. It wasn't easy to get iced americano there. When I returned to Korea shortly in the middle, I bought my favorite beans and took it to France, ground it on my own and made iced americano with a moka pot. It was the closest to the coffee taste I like, I was very happy.
Q. What if you were to name the coffee you made today?
A. Yongspresso!
Q. Do you get inspiration as you drink coffee?
A. Of course, because I'm always drinking coffee when I make music. I have many songs I wrote while drinking coffee, such as "coffee shop".
Q. You are including three of your own compositions in this album, ‘7℃N’. Could you tell us what you thought as you wrote the songs, and what object you would compare it to?
-The title track "Between Us" is a fusion dish. I collaborated with a foreign composer, I had such fun writing it.
-"It's you" is cotton candy. It's sweet and cute to look at. I thought a lot about the beginning of a romantic relationship. That's my specialty. I think I'm good at forming empathy (from listeners on this theme).
-I'd say "Royal Rumble" is like a piece of burnt beef. It's fatty and tasty, but has a bitter taste. It has the emotions I felt during my 7 years of being in the entertainment industry.
Q. The title track "Between Us" is your own composition. What kind of bean is it if you compare it to coffee?
A. It's the kind that starts sweet but ends bitterly. The song progresses that way. It has many different flavors!
Q. Any last comment as a coffee lover?
A. I want to learn more about coffee and brew some for my fans.

Thanks for the trans! Waiting impatiently for the new songs but can I say his description of Royal Rumble is spot on? I have not been able to move on from the live performance video in FNC Kingdom, it's just perfection - voice, vibe, sexiness... Hoping someone will translate the Korean lyrics to English when it is released!
As a coffee lover myself, I can totally relate to him bringing both equipment and beans to a foreign country just to get the preferred taste. ^^ -
