가수 정용화가 중국에서 대중문화 아이콘으로 선정되는 영예를 안았다.
정용화는 18일 중국 상하이 동방체육중심에서 개최된 ‘2015 엘르 스타일 어워즈’에서 ‘보이스 오브 엘르 올해의 가수상’ 수상자로 선정됐다.
‘엘르 스타일 어워즈’는 2008년 10월에 처음 시작해 올해로 8년차를 맞이한 중국의 패션·스타일 분야 시상식이다. 정용화는 올해 시상식의 유일한 한국 스타로 참석해 레드카펫 행사에서 스포트라이트를 받았다.
'보이스 오브 엘르 올해의 가수상'은 '엘르 스타일 어워즈'의 유일한 음악 관련 시상 분야로, 국적을 불문하고 음악성, 문화적 영향력 등을 종합적으로 평가해 결정된다. 수상의 영광을 안은 정용화는 유창한 중국어로 “안녕하세요 정용화입니다. 여기에 서보니 감개무량합니다. 엘르에게 감사하며 나의 팬 여러분께도 감사드립니다. 2015년 여러분이 있기에 저는 정말 너무 행복했습니다”라고 소감을 전했다. 수상 직후 자신의 솔로곡 ‘어느 멋진 날’과 대만 국민 여가수 등려군(鄧麗君)의 ‘월량대표아적심(月亮代表我的心)’을 열창하며 축하 무대를 펼쳤다.
이날 시상식에는 정용화와 함께 손려(孫儷), 호가(胡歌), 양미(??), 당언(唐?), 류원(?雯), 등자기(鄧紫棋) 등 중화권의 톱 스타들이 총출동해 시상식을 화려하게 수놓았다.
한편, 올해 첫 솔로 앨범 ‘어느 멋진 날’과 씨엔블루 정규 2집 ‘투게더(2gether)’를 발표하고 활발히 활동한 정용화는 연말 가요 시상식에 참석하며 한 해를 마무리할 예정이다.
Singer Jung Yonghwa was honored as a pop culture icon in China.
At the 2015 Elle Style Awards held in Shanghai, China, Jung Yonghwa was named the “Voice of Elle International Singer of the Year”.
“Elle Style Awards” is a fashion/style awards that began in October 2008, celebrating its 8th year this year. Jung Yonghwa participated as the only Korean star this year, garnering spotlight at the red carpet.
“Voice of Elle International Singer of the Year” is the sole music-related award among Elle Style Awards, decided on a comprehensive basis that includes musicality and cultural influence, regardless of one’s nationality. Upon his acceptance of the award, Jung Yonghwa fluently spoke, “Hello, this is Jung Yonghwa. It’s very flattering to stand here. I thank Elle and my fans. I was very happy in 2015 thanks to you.” Afterwards, he gave a celebratory performance by singing his solo track “One Fine Day” and “The Moon Represents my Heart.”
Top Chinese stars such as Sun Li, Hu Ge, Yang Mi, Tiffany Tang, Liu Wen, and Gloria Tang graced the ceremony.
On another note, Jung Yonghwa, who promoted actively this year by releasing his first solo album “One Fine Day” and CNBLUE 2nd full album “2gether", will close the year attending the year-end music shows.

At one point during the Elle awards, one of the presenters said '这是一个融合的时代' (this is an era of integration). 融合 (róng hé integration) has an identical pronunciation to Yonghwa's Chinese name 容和 (róng hé) hence that phrase 融合的时代 could also sound like 'Yonghwa's era'.
