싱어송라이터 정용화와 선우정아가 이번 ‘교감(交感)’ 프로젝트를 ‘운명’이라고 표현했다.
정용화와 선우정아가 ‘교감’ 프로젝트를 시작하게 된 계기를 밝혔다. 정용화는 “여성 아티스트와 작업을 하게 된다면 늘 선우정아씨와 하고 싶었다”고 밝혔다.
이에 선우정아는 “정용화씨와 같이 음악을 하고 싶다고 막연하게 생각하다가 한 달도 되지 않아 연락이 닿았다”며 “정용화씨의 연락을 받고 이건 정말 운명이고 인연이라고 느꼈다”고 그들의 특별한 일화를 공개했다.
정용화와 선우정아가 음악인으로서 교감을 나눈 이번 프로젝트는 완연히 다른 성격의 두 개의 듀엣곡이 한 날 한 시에 공개된다.
동시 발매될 ‘입김’은 정용화가 선우정아를 생각하며 작곡했으며, ‘불꽃놀이’는 반대로 선우정아가 정용화를 생각하며 작업한 곡이다. 두 곡의 작사는 두 사람이 공동으로 맡아 ‘운명’같은 이번 컬래버레이션을 완성했다.
‘입김’은 불현듯 떠오르는 지난 사랑의 순간을 담담하게 그린 발라드이며, ‘불꽃놀이’는 연인을 향한 애정과 아름다운 사랑의 순간들을 불꽃놀이에 빗대 노래한 댄스 팝 장르의 곡이다.
서로에게서 받은 영감을 색다른 음악 세계로 표현한 두 곡에서 정용화의 세련된 보컬과 선우정아의 서정적인 보이스가 어우러져 완벽한 하모니를 이룬다.
한편 FNC엔터테인먼트는 지난 12일 ‘교감’ 프로젝트 티저 영상을 공개한 데 이어 13일 0시 공식 페이스북(https://www.facebook.com/theofficialfnc)을 통해 재킷 이미지를 공개했다.

On how they began Project Empathy, JYH revealed, “I’ve always wanted to work with SWJA if I get to work with a female artist.” SWJA talked about the special episode: “I had a vague thought that I wanted to make music with JYH, and within a month, I got a call. When I was reached, I felt that this is so meant to be.”
This project, in which JYH and SWJA “exchanged their emotions,” will release two completely different style of music at the exact same time, on the same day.
‘Breath (Hello)’ is composed by JYH, inspired by SWJA, and on the other hand, ’Fireworks’ is written by SWJA thinking of JYH. The lyrics to two songs are co-written, completing this “destined” collaboration.
‘Breath (Hello)’ is a ballad calmly portrays a moment in past love, while ‘Fireworks’ is a metaphor for passion and beautiful love in a dance-pop genre.
In the two songs that express the inspiration they received from one another in each of their style, JYH’s stylish vocals and SWJA’s melodic voice come together for a perfect harmony.
