CNBLUE, 4월 24일 새 싱글 "Blind Love" 발매!

4월 24일 발매되는 CNBLUE의 새 싱글 "Blind Love"는 기타 & 보컬의 종현이 작사·작곡한 러브송. 구슬픈 멜로디와 감성이 가득 담긴 보컬은 그들다운 작품이지만, 실은 러브송을 싱글로 선택한 것은 이번이 처음이라고 한다. 주로 락 튠을 싱글로 발표하는 그들에게는 하나의 도전이라고도 할 수 있을 터. 곧바로 멤버들에게 직격, 그들의 음악에 대한 생각을 들어보았다.

EMTG: 가창자는 용화씨인데요. 종현씨로부터 "이런 느낌으로 불렀으면 좋겠다"는 주문은 없었나요?
용화: 딱히 없었어요. 잘하니까요! (웃음)

EMTG: 물론이군요 (웃음).  그렇다면, "Blind Love"를 처음 들었을 때 어떤 인상이었나요?
용화: 크게 힘들이지 않고 부를 수 있을 것 같다고 생각했어요. 지금까지의 싱글은 업템포의 곡들이 많았어서 키도 높았었는데, 이번 곡은 미디엄 템포거든요. 그래도 절대 제가 가장 잘 부르는 타입의 곡은 아니어서 하나의 도전이었다고 생각합니다.

EMTG: 다른 멤버분들은 "With your eyes"에 대해서는 어떻게 생각하셨는지요?
용화: 저는 공감할 수 있고, 누구나 해당되는 내용의 곡이라고 생각해요.

EMTG: 다음은 "Greedy Man"에 대해서입니다. 이 곡은 용화 씨가 작사·작곡을 맡으셨군요.
용화: 저는 흔하디 흔한 사랑얘기로 가사를 쓰는 건 그다지 좋아하지 않아요. 이 곡은 테마가 중요하다고 생각하는데요, 가사를 통해 집착하는 마음을 가진 남자를 표현해 보았습니다.

EMTG: 가사를 영어로 쓰셨는데, 특별히 영어를 선택한 이유가 있나요?
용화: 영어로 쓰면 직접적인 표현방법이 되곤 하는데, 그게 마음에 들어요. 여자친구의 행동이 너무도 신경쓰여서, "지금 뭘 하고 있는 걸까" 하는 마음이 담겨있는 거죠.

EMTG: 3곡 모두 전혀 다른 타입의 곡이 완성되었는데요, 가장 감정이입할 수있는 곡은 어느 곡인가요?
민혁: 감정이입이 잘 되는건 "Greedy Man"이고, 들을 때 릴랙스할수 있는 곡은 "Blind Love"네요.
용화: 역시 전 제가 느낀 걸 쓴 "Greedy Man"입니다.

EMTG: 올해도 월드투어로 여러 곳에서 콘서트를 열 예정이신데, 특히 기대되는 도시가 있으신가요?
용화: 전 어느 곳이든 즐거워요.

EMTG: 알겠습니다. (웃음) 일본에서도 곧 콘서트가 열렸으면 좋겠군요. 기대하고 있겠습니다!

CNBLUE Releases New Single "Blind Love"

CNBLUE's new single to be released on April 24, "Blind Love" is a love song composed and written by Guitar & Vocalist JH. The sentimental melody full of emotions indeed is their style, but it's their first time releasing a love song as a single. This must be a challenge in itself to a band that mostly has released rock tunes. Right away, we bombarded them with our questions about how they think of thier music.

EMTG: Yonghwa's the one who sings it. Did JH have any directions such as, "I want you to sing it this way"?
YH: Not really, because I'm good! (laughs)

EMTG: Of course (laughs). Then what was your impression when you first heard "Blind Love"?
YH: I thought I could sing it without too much effort. The singles we've released thus far were up-tempo songs and had high notes, but this one is a medium-tempo. But I can't say it's a type of song I'm best at, so it was still a challenge for me.

EMTG: What did you think about "With your eyes"?
YH: I was able to relate to it, and think the story's applicable to everyone.

EMTG: Next is about "Greedy Man". This is composed and written by Yonghwa.
YH: I'm not that into writing about a typical love story. I think the theme of this song is the most important part of it. Through the lyrics, I tried to portray a man who has an obsessive heart.

EMTG: You wrote the lyrics in English. Is there a special reason?
YH: I like how I tend to express my feelings frankly when I'm writing in English. For instance, the sentiment of being overly concerned with the girlfriend's actions are represented in the phrase "What are you doing?"

EMTG: The three songs are so different from one another. What's the song you can really relate to?
MH: The song I can relate to the most is "Greedy Man", and the song I can relax while listening is "Blind Love".
YH: As for me, it's certainly "Greedy Man" since I wrote what I felt.

EMTG: You're holding a world tour in many different locations this year. Is there a city that you're especially looking forward to?
YH: I'm happy to go to all of them.
