*'Gyogam' can be roughly translated as "exchange of emotions" or that feeling of clicking with someone with a shared understanding...not sure how to put it into one English word. Any ideas? "connection" maybe?

Can it be "sympathy"? It is translated as 'understanding between people; common feeling'. I think we can find the true word once the song is released.

Yeah, that's the direct translation given by dictionaries too. But (at least I feel like in American English) "sympathy" is more often used to describe the following feeling: "the feeling that you care about and are sorry about someone else's trouble, grief, misfortune, etc. : a feeling of support for something : a state in which different people share the same interests, opinions, goals, etc." (Merriam-Webster)
The definition you gave is also correct, but I feel like in colloquial usage this meaning is more dominant, which might give off a different vibe.

Reading 交感 (jiāo găn) as a Chinese term gives the meaning 'exchange of emotions' too. I struggled to find an English word that could encapsulate that. I was thinking perhaps 'empathy', the ability to understand and share the feelings of others? But that's not quite it too.

Empathy is definitely closer. But it feels too technical/philosophical a term to me...I guess that's the one they're going with, reading the comment underneath.
