그룹 씨엔블루의 멤버이자 배우로 활동 중인 정용화가 ‘김은숙의 남자’로 발탁됐다.

정용화는 하반기 방송되는 SBS 새 수목미니시리즈 ‘왕관을 쓰려는 자, 그 무게를 견뎌라-상속자들’(연출 강신효ㆍ이하 상속자들)의 주인공으로 캐스팅됐다. SBS의 한 관계자는 “정용화가 이민호 박신혜에 이어 ‘상속자들’에 합류해 드라마 ‘넌 내게 반했어’ 이후 2년 만에 컴백하게 됐다”고 밝혔다.

정용화가 가세하면서 ‘상속자들’은 한류스타들의 집합소로 불리게 됐다. 정용화와 박신혜는 드라마 ‘미남이시네요’를 통해 일본 등에서 폭발적 인기를 얻고 있고 이민호 역시 ‘꽃보다 남자’ ‘시티헌터’ 등의 성공으로 차세대 한류스타 중 첫 손에 꼽힌다.

이 관계자는 “내로라하는 한류 스타들이 공동 주연을 맡은 만큼 엄청난 시너지 효과를 낼 것이다. 정용화와 이민호는 상반된 매력을 가진 상속자로 출연해 매력 대결을 펼칠 것이다”고 덧붙였다.

정용화와 박신혜의 남다른 인연도 화제다. 두 사람은 ‘미남이시네요’와 ‘넌 내게 반했어’에 이어 ‘상속자들’에서도 남녀주인공으로 호흡을 맞추며 3번째 만남을 갖게 됐다.

‘상속자들’은 부유층 고교생들의 사랑과 우정을 그리는 트렌디 드라마다.

Jung Yong Hwa has been cast as a lead of SBS's new Wed-Thurs Mini Series "Heirs". An insider at SBS revealed, "Jung Yong Hwa will be joining LMH and PSH in 'Heirs,' returning to acting in 2 years."

With Jung Yong Hwa on board, "Heirs" will be called a collection of Hallyu stars. JYH and PSH have exploded in popularity in Japan through "You are beautiful" and LMH is also one of the top Hallyu stars with the success of "Boys over Flowers" and "City Hunter."

The insider added, "Since the top hallyu stars have taken the lead roles, they're expected to generate a synergy effect. Jung Yong Hwa and LMH will act as heirs who have contrasting charms, competing with one another."

JYH and PSH's unusual connection is drawing another attention. The two acted opposite one another in "YAB" and "Heartstrings", and now again in "Heirs" for the third time.

"Heirs" is a trendy drama that will portray love and friendship between high school students.
