정용화도 2년 만에 복귀

무서운 20대가 돌아온다.

인기와 연기력을 겸비한 20대 배우들이 하반기에 대거 컴백한다. 1년 이상 공백기를 가지며 절치부심한 배우 이민호 정용화 정일우 김수현 등이 10월부터 연이어 시청자들과 만난다.

그룹 씨엔블루의 리더인 정용화가 동시기에 이민호와 함께 '20대 기수론'에 힘을 보탠다. 2011년작인 MBC '넌 내게 반했어' 이후 음악 활동에 집중하던 정용화는 2년여 만에 KBS 2TV '미래의 선택'(극본 홍진아ㆍ연출 권계홍)을 차기작으로 선택했다. 극중 방송국 사주의 손자라는 사실을 감추고 있는 VJ 박세주 역을 맡은 정용화는 극중 이동건 윤은혜 등과 호흡을 맞춘다.

한 외주제작사 관계자는 "이민호와 정용화 모두 전작인 '주군의 태왕'와 '굿닥터'가 동시간대 시청률 1위를 달리고 있는 상황에서 바통을 이어받는다. 출발선상에서 이미 타 드라마에 앞서 있다고 볼 수 있다"고 말했다.

SBS 드라마국 관계자는 "하반기에는 20대 스타들이 연이어 안방극장으로 복귀한다. 주연 배우 기근 현상에 시달리던 방송가로서는 반가운 소식이 아닐 수 없다. 이들의 경쟁을 지켜보는 시청자들 역시 선택권이 넓어졌다"고 말했다.

Popular and talented actors in their 20s will return en masse in the second half of the year. Though they took breaks for longer than a year, LMH, Jung Yonghwa, JIW, and KSH will meet the viewers starting in October.

Group CNBLUE's leader Jung Yonghwa will add power to the "20's wave". Jung Yonghwa, who had focused his activities on music for two years following MBC's 2011 drama "Heartstrings", has chosen KBS 2TV "Choice of Future" (W:HJA/D:KKH) as his next work. He will play the role of Park Seju, a VJ hiding the fact that he is the grandson of the TV network CEO, along with LDG and YEH.

An associate at an external production company remarked, "LMH and JYH are both receiving the baton from previous shows "Master's Sun" and "Good Doctor" that are topping the ratings. It's safe to say that they are ahead in the starting line compared to other dramas."

An insider at the SBS drama dept. said, "Stars in their 20s will return massively to the small screen in the second half of the year. This is such a great news for the TV networks who have lacked lead actor materials. There is now more choice for the viewers' who will watch their competition as well."
