캐스팅 당시 근석과 신혜는 이미 지명도가 있었지만, 홍기와 용화는 배우로서의 경력이 거의 제로에 가까웠으니까요.
용화는 지금 주연으로 의뢰가 많이 들어오고 있다고 하니, 저희로서는 발탁한 보람이 있어요.
솔직히, 처음엔 그다지 기대를 하지 않았거든요.
신우를 연기할 배우라고 소개해도 "응?"하는 반응 뿐이라 오히려 걱정이었죠.
하지만 그는 머리가 무척 좋아요.
서브 남주 캐릭터는, 그렇게까지 많이 출연하지는 않지만, 대본을 보면 그 캐릭터가 반드시 돋보이는 "이거다!"하는 포인트가 있어요.
그걸 제대로 파악하고 연기해준다면 인기를 얻는거죠.
용화는 그 포인트를 제대로 파악했기에 "수건남"이라는 애칭으로 단숨에 인기를 얻게 된겁니다.
When we first casted them, Geun Suk and Shin Hye were known, but Hong Ki and Yong Hwa almost had no career as actors.
I heard that Yong Hwa's being offered many roles as a lead, which is a very rewarding feeling for us who first casted him.
Honestly, we didn't expect much in the beginning.
When we introduced him as the actor to play Shin Woo, the only reaction we'd get is "Hmm?", which made us rather worried.
But he's very smart.
The second lead, although he doesn't have many scenes, when you read the script there are parts that his character defintely shines.
If the actor understands it fully and acts it out, he'll get popular.
Yong Hwa fully understood the point, that's why he rose to fame right away as the "towel boy".

So even the producer is proud of Yonghwa. As an actor, Yonghwa may not be a natural, but he's the brain to make the character work. Most importantly, he does everything with his heart too.
Can't blame us fans for feeling proud. -
Actually, I like his acting a lot. I find him a natural for the roles he plays. I really look forward to his next drama (a movie or a musical will be nice too).
