또 이연희는 정용화에 대해 "정말 많은 끼를 갖고 있는 배우 같다. 뮤지션으로서도 천재적인 감각을 갖고 있는 것 같더라. 촬영 준비하는 동안 휴대전화로 음악을 만든다. 그걸 게임하듯이 드라마에 맞는 음악을 영감이 떠오른다면서 만들더라. 진지하기 보다 재미있고 즐거운 분위기 속에서 음악을 만들더라"면서 "그런 거 볼 때도 다양한 끼와 재능이 많다 싶었다. 연기할 때도 거침이 없는 배우인 것 같다. 마루 그 자체처럼 순수하면서도 돌진하는 그런 연기를 잘 소화한 것 같다는 생각이 든다"고 애정을 보였다.

그러면서 이연희는 "진지하기도 했는데 즐거운 분위기 속에서 그랬다. 그런 거 볼 때도 이 친구 다양한 끼를 가지고 있고 재능이 많구나 생각했다. 연기할 때도 거침이 없었던 것 같다. 정용화가 마루 자체였다. 순수하면서도 사랑에 있어서 맞는 연기를 소화한 것 같다"고 덧붙였다.

During the preparation for filming, he made music with his cell phone. He said inspirations were coming and he would make music that fits the drama, as if he's playing games. Rather than serious, he was making music in very enjoyable, fun ways. Watching him, I could tell he has so many talents and skills. Even when acting, he had no qualms. I think he did a great job being the innocent and bold Maroo, like he was the character himself."
