3년 8개월 만에 나온 씨엔블루의 신보. 타이틀 곡 ‘과거 현재 미래’는 감히 이들의 최고작이라고 말하고 싶다. 이 팀의 멜로디는 늘 준수했지만, 이번은 특히 수준급이다. 정용화의 깊어진 표현력도 인상적이다. 보컬에서 성숙이 묻어난달까. 감탄했다.
수록곡 중엔 ‘없다’가 돋보인다. 코드 진행과 후렴에서 느껴지는 노련미가 재밌다. 이런 곡을 쓰고 근사하게 부를 수 있다는 게 정용화의 저력 아닐지.
Trans) CNBLUE's new record is out after 3 years and 8 months. I dare say their title track, "Then, Now and Forever," is their all-time best. This team's melodies have always been outstanding, but this time it's particularly stellar. Jung Yonghwa's vocals have become even more expressive, it's remarkable. His vocals exude maturity. I was blown away.
Out of the B-sides, "In Time" is exceptional. It's interesting to find sophistication in the chord progression and the chorus. I'd say the ability to pen a song like this and sing it in such a suave manner is Jung Yonghwa's true strength.

I’m just going through the Critics reviews (thank you for your great categorization justjyh!) on this website, enjoying how Yong Hwa converted critics step by step over the years with his music, how some saw his potential despite the initial prejudices and are rejoicing to see how he has not disappointed them. I hope we get more reviews of Re-code because this album is truly a masterpiece.
