Best K-pop idol songs 2007-2017: 헷갈리게 Between Us

이 곡은, 락커가 만든 아이돌 댄스곡이라는 느낌? 제가 몇년 전에 씨엔블루는 정석적인 로큰롤 느낌도 좋지만 미국에서 한창 유행중인 인디 댄스풍의 음악이 어울릴 것 같다고 제언 아닌 제언을 했었는데, 물론 그것을 들었을리는 없겠지만요. 다행히 그 방향으로 가고 또 이렇게 훌륭한 결과물을 들고나왔다는 점에서 개인적으로는 기분좋게 느끼고 있습니다. 정용화와 함께 늘 좋은 공동작업을 현재도 보여주고 있는 미국 작곡가 저스틴 라인스타인의 작품이예요. 멜로디만으로는 아주 강렬한 안무가 딸려나오는, 가령, 덥스텝, EDM스타일이 어울리겠지만, 역시 그들의 정체성에 맞게 락스타일의 편곡으로 마무리하는 모습에서 역시 또 감각적이라는 생각을 하게 됩니다.

This song gives me the vibe of "an idol dance tune created by a rocker." A few years ago, I've suggested that CNBLUE -- although they do traditional rock 'n' roll just fine -- would do well if they tried the indie dance genre, quite popular in the US at the moment. I think it's unlikely that they actually heard my proposition, but thankfully they're going that way and released such an excellent output. It makes me feel quite good, personally. This is a work by Jung Yonghwa and American composer Justin Reinstein, who has always shown great collaboration with Jung and still is working together. From the melody, you would imagine it would suit dubstep or EDM genre paired with powerful choreography, but as it is with their style, CNBLUE gives it a rock-style finish that's again very sensible.
