【E】정용화X선우정아, “우리의 콜라보레이션은 운명이었다” JYHxSWJA "Our Collab was Meant to Be"

정용화, 선우정아가 유희열의 스케치북에 출연한다. 정용화와 선우정아는 15일 <교감 프로젝트>라는 이름의 콜라보레이션 곡을 발표하는데, 지난 12일 진행된 녹화에서 음원 발매 이전 최초로 신곡을 공개하며 큰 호응을 얻었다.
정용화는 평소 함께 작업해보고 싶은 뮤지션으로 늘 선우정아를 꼽아왔다. 라디오에서 우연히 선우정아의 ‘뱁새’라는 노래를 듣고 충격을 받았다고 밝힌 정용화는 “에이미 와인하우스 같은 느낌을 받았다”고 처음 선우정아를 알게 됐을 당시의 심정을 회상했다. 이어 MC 유희열은 “이후에 선우정아 검색해서 사진을 보고 깜짝 놀라지 않았나” 라는 농담을 건넸는데, 정용화는 “사자머리에 깁스를 하고 노래 부르는 걸 보니까 ‘해야 한다’는 생각이 들었다” 라고 애정을 드러내기도 했다.
선우정아 역시 “정용화의 솔로 앨범을 정말 좋아했는데 함께 작업하고 싶다고 연락을 주셨다”고 말했다. 이어 “마침 나도 듀엣곡을 써 놨는데 용화씨 목소리가 잘 어울릴 것 같아서 말씀드렸더니 흔쾌히 받아들여 주셨다”고 설명했는데, 이에 두 사람은 “운명이다” 라며 입을 모아 말해 웃음을 자아냈다.
선우정아가 발견한 정용화의 약점은? “사투리 쓰지 않으면 말을 잘 못 해”
한편 MC 유희열은 두 사람에게 서로의 첫인상에 대해 질문했다. 먼저 정용화는 “다가가기 어려울 줄 알았는데 너무 착하시더라” 라고 말했다. 이어 선우정아는 “워낙 스타라 벽이 있을 줄 알았다. 그런데 예능에서 보던 것보다 말을 잘 못하시더라” 며 궁금증을 자아냈는데, “사투리를 쓰기 시작하면 봉인이 해제되더라” 라고 설명하기도 했다. 이에 정용화는 “사투리가 필살기다” 라고 고백해 폭소를 자아냈다.
선우정아, 정용화에게 가장 부러운 점은? “얼굴”
서로에게 부러운 점이 무엇인지 묻는 MC 유희열의 질문에 선우정아는 “얼굴”이라고 단호하게 답했다. 이어 “눈, 코, 입이 참 잘 하고 있다. 능력 있는 얼굴이다” 라고 말했는데, “투샷을 보니 내 얼굴이 너무 못 하고 있다”고 고백해 좌중을 폭소케 했다. 또한 정용화는 선우정아의 ‘스캣’ 실력이 부럽다고 말했는데, “나는 애드립을 하면 ‘오’, ‘노’, ‘베이비’ 세 개가 전부인데 선우정아 씨는 ‘후비후비훕’ 이라고 애드립을 하시더라” 라며 연신 놀라움을 감추지 못했다.

Jung Yonghwa and Sunwoo Jung-A will make an appearance on YHY’s Sketchbook. Set to release collaboration songs under “Project Empathy” on Jan. 15, JYH and SWJA revealed their new song before the release to warm response at the recording of the show on Jan. 12.
JYH has always picked SWJA as the musician he would like to work with. Jung said he was shocked when he listened to SWJA’s song ‘Crow-tit’; she reminded him of Amy Winehouse. When MC Yoo Heeyeol jokingly asked, “Weren’t you surprised when you searched her name and saw her picture?” JYH affectionately remarked, “When I saw her singing with a lion-like hair and a cast (on her legs), I thought, ‘I’ve got to work with her.’”
SWJA also told the crowd, “I really liked JYH’s solo album and he contacted me and said he wished to collaborate with me. I told him, I coincidentally wrote a duet and I think your voice will be great with it. He willingly accepted the offer.” The pair drew smiles from the audience as they both declared it was their “fate”.
-JYH’s shortfall that SWJA found out: “he can’t speak well without using dialect”
MC YHY asked what their first impressions of each other was. JYH said, “I thought she may be a bit difficult to approach, but she was so nice.” SWJA made the audience curious as she said, “I thought he would have this barrier because he’s such a star. But he wasn’t as eloquent as I saw him on variety shows.” She then followed, “When he started speaking in dialect, then he was unleashed.” JYH drew laughter saying, “Dialect is my lethal move.”

YHY followed by asking what they are most jealous of from each other. SWJA was stern as she said, “His face. His eyes, nose, and lips are so hard-working*. Very talented face. Monitoring the two of our faces in the same shot, my face is too lazy.” (*it’s become a trendy phrase to say “the face is hard-working” when it’s very handsome)
JYH was amazed and said that he’s jealous of her talent in scat singing. “When I ad-lib, all I can use are ‘Oh, no, baby.’ But SWJA-ssi does things like ‘hoobihoobihoob’.”
