When Coldplay released their first album, Parachutes, I fell in love immediately and was so excited to find a new band to love. I even attended their first world tour concert when they had to tour with Travis as their own name wasn't big enough. I'd not been as excited about a new band until I came across Yong Hwa's songs like Y, Why and Just Please.
And I can honestly say that CNBLUE's concert in their 2nd year in LA (joint with FTIsland) blew me away even more than Coldplay's concert as newbies. Yong Hwa live as a rookie was so much more charismatic and enigmatic than Chris Martin as a rookie! So while they may get scoffed at by their own countrymen, I've always believed in Yong Hwa's potential and he has only proven me correct. I'm a fan of Chris Martin's music who has followed him from the start and I don't see Yong Hwa as any lesser in talent than Chris. In fact, I think Yong Hwa has more potential as he has greater diversity in musical taste and loves to experiment more. -
I totally agree with your point on Yong Hwa having more potential. It is rare to see a young musician with such musical diversity and a charismatic stage presence. He just needs the right support and exposure.

Kim Gura always play's devil's advocate and makes snarky remarks. It's his 'tv persona' so I won't take it too seriously.
The billboard review was mainly pointing out that 'Like a Child' was reminiscent of Coldplay, I wonder if they listened to that one (probably not) or just Can't Stop. -
I know he does. But he also prides himself for being a (western) pop music buff. It's quite obvious he didn't take a good listen before being that snarky.

from the start when i become cnblue fan im already fan of band music rather than those dancing type and its sad for me in korea that they are not into band music that much and its sadder that their own countrymen brings them down. its clear that cnblue tries to expose their korean-band-music on outside but their own country dont fully acknowledge them. anyway kim gura has this type of role in entertainment so i dont take him too seriously
