It's the second time the song was played in an Olympics related TV program! No surprise here. The song is all about achieving goals and dreams. Very fitting!
-
It's interesting that it's not "top of the world" part, but "One time, for this moment." She was almost set for gold but ended up with a bronze b/c another athlete fell and tripped her along. Whether or not you win #1, this song still remains relevant as long as you aspire to achieve your dreams and live to your fullest in that moment.

WOW.
So the reporter/news producer really understands the song.
-
The whole part is this: "This moment is One Time. Shout out again for this moment, One time. Above the sky that's higher than the heaven."
The editor of this clip definitely KNOWS. :)

방송내 팬분 여튼 감사합니다 -
What age was YH when he wrote One Time? The boy never ceases to amaze me.

My memory could be faulty so someone please correct me if I am wrong. I recall reading that he wrote "One Time" right after their Korean debut when they were engulfed with negative publicity and cruel criticism. The song may have been actually released the year after. It has been one of my favorite precisely because of when he wrote it. He sings about the dream and his determination, pulling along his team mates and urging people to hear his music and share his joy. He could've been singing about disappointment, sadness, rage. Instead he announced his dream to the whole world. He definitely commanded my attention with this song. And he was a boy, an amazing boy.

I really love what you wrote! His positive attitude when faced with adversities is one of the major reasons I admire and respect him so much. Thanks for the info and your insight.

I was wondering if you're just being rhetorical.
Just in case anybody needs some information. The English version was the title of the Japanese single "The Way" released in 2010/06/23. Just as musica said, he wrote it not long after their Korean debut.
It's the Korean version used in the news clip, which is from the full length Korean album "First Step" released in 2011/03/21. The Korean lyrics were solely written by Yonghwa. The album was actually planned to be released in late 2010 (Nov?), but for some reasons, it's delayed (two times). So I believe Yonghwa wrote the Korean version not long after the English version.
So he was just 20/21.

Thank you for the clarification. My memory is a lot better when it comes to YH related things, compared to other stuff in my life :D. But it's still unreliable ^^.

Thanks for all your responses. Yes, I was being rhetorical. My memory is a bit hazy, but I was sure that he wrote One Time when he was very young. So thanks for the confirmation. He just amazes me. To think that he turned a painful time into something positive and motivating for himself as well as his team, WOW, just WOW. I guess it's like his rallying song or anthem.
