올리브 ‘섬총사’의 영산도편이 첫방송부터 기분 좋은 출발을 알렸다.
7월 3일 오후 9시30분 방송된 올리브 ‘섬총사(연출 박상혁)’ 7화가 케이블, IPTV, 위성을 포함한 유료플랫폼 가구 시청률에서 평균 2.7%, 최고 3.6%를 기록하며, '섬총사' 자체 최고시청률을 경신했다. (전국기준/ tvN 올리브 합산/ 닐슨코리아 제공)

이날 방송에서는 두 번째 섬 체험기를 하게 된 강호동, 김희선, 정용화가 영산도로 향하는 모습이 그려졌다. 지난 우이도 편에서 예능감을 100% 발휘했던 김희선은 흑산도로 들어가는 배에서부터 구성진 에피소드들을 방출하며 강호동과 정용화의 폭소를 이끌어냈다. 우이도에서 나오던 날, 할머니와 정이든 태항호가 배에서 꺼이꺼이 울다가 잠든 이야기부터 두 번째 촬영을 벼르고 온양 재치 있는 입담으로 웃음바다를 만들었다.
목포에서 흑산도로 가는 배에서 김희선의 입담이 빛났다면, 흑산도에서 최종 목적지인 영산도로 향하는 배에서는 영산도 이장님의 유쾌함이 돋보였다. 뿐만 아니라, 영산도 주변 경관은 시청자들의 이목을 사로잡기에 충분했다. ‘코끼리 바위’라고 불리는 기암괴석은 섬총사 멤버들도 넋을 잃고 바라볼 수 밖에 없는 자태를 뽐냈다. 유네스코가 인정하고 섬 자체가 국립공원으로 지정된 만큼 영산도는 범상치 않은 풍광을 자랑했다.
한결 여유롭고 한층 더 가까워진 ‘섬총사’ 멤버들과 짧은 등장으로도 존재감 강했던 영산도 마을 사람들의 유쾌함까지, ‘영산도편’에 대한 기대감이 더욱 높아졌다.

Last night's episode was probably their best so far, IMO. KHD-KHS and Yonghwa were just amazingly so natural and entertaining. Great chemistry. I'm happy for the entire team getting their best rating so far. Hope it continues to rise. By the way, is there any indication whether this program is in it for the long run or is it originally slated for just 12 episodes? Thank you.

They haven't revealed any future plans yet, but I saw the PD going on an expedition trip to a new island...so it might be on for at least 3 islands?

Oh. So happy to hear that. I do hope they continue. The show is really getting better in terms of editing and it seems more and more people are getting to know about the show through word of mouth. I think it's a great exposure for Yonghwa to a whole new audience demoggraphic and he gets to experience new and exciting things while working. He might also get inspiration from being away on an island. Not to mention that the new island is so beautiful! Thank you.

I am happy that the ratings are going up and I hope that this upward trend continues because it is such a good show. From the second episode it is evident that the 3 of them have a natural chemistry and have grown very close to one another. It also seems that Yong Hwa is really enjoying his time on the island, just doing things that he doesn't get to do in his normal busy schedule. I really hope there is at least one more island or more so that more Koreans know who Jung Yong Hwa is.

I hope there are more islands they can go to. I really like this show. Interaction w/islanders are more in this episode.YH contributing and leaving a part of himself through his painting a mural is love. They need to do something more tangible for the island and it's people. There are a lot more people noticing them in the meeting station prior to their trip and YH being recognized my heart is filled w/ joy.

It's because of his laughter that I would like for YongHwa to continue this series. That episode where he was tickled, that was the 1st time I've heard of him laughing without restraint. I've replayed that scene countless times. It was really good to see him enjoying himself in an island environment.

This is a very nice healing show ... fun and cute trio, leisure activities and beautiful scenery in a natural setting. The ratings will certainly go UP .... entertainment that comforts and brings smiles. I hope YH parts will not only be used in preview but will also be shown in the actual broadcast. I was a little upset in the earlier episodes where his parts are used only in teasers/preview ...
