씨엔블루 정용화는 가수와 배우 두 영역에서 전천후 활약을 보이고 있는 아이돌 스타. 정용화의 첫 데뷔 신고식은 노래가 아닌 연기였다. 정용화는 2009년 SBS 드라마 ‘미남이시네요’로 처음 대중에게 얼굴을 드러냈음에도 ‘수건남’으로 화제를 모았으며, 이어 씨엔블루로 데뷔하자마자 ‘외톨이야’, ‘러브(Love)’를 연달아 히트시켰다. MBC ‘우리 결혼했어요’, SBS ‘밤이면 밤마다’ 고정 MC, SBS ‘런닝맨’ 최다 게스트 출연 등 예능은 이미 전성기를 거쳤다.
정용화는 가수와 연기 모두 무명 시기라고는 찾아볼 수 없을 정도로 정상급 스타로 급부상했다. 그만큼 실력도 출중했다. 씨엔블루의 리더이자 메인보컬을 맡고 있으면서 작사, 작곡에도 능해 앨범 수록곡 대부분을 자신의 자작곡으로 채우고 있다. 2011년 정용화가 출연한 MBC 드라마 ‘넌 내게 반했어’는 비록 시청률은 낮았지만, 주연 연기자로서의 가능성을 드러냈다. 현재 정용화는 KBS2 월화드라마 ‘미래의 선택’에서 방송국 회장의 손자이지만, 신분을 숨기고 궂은일을 도맡아 하는 VJ, 박세주 역을 맡아 윤은혜, 이동건과 호흡을 맞추고 있다. 그만큼 다방면에서 고루 활약한 정용화에게 묻는 스타들의 질문도 다양했다.

정용화는 데뷔 초기, 배우 정경호의 닮은꼴로 주목을 받았다. 비슷한 외모와 똑같은 성씨때문에 친형제설이 돌기도 했다. 게다가 정용화는 고등학교 3학년 재학 시절이던 2007년, 한 얼짱사이트에서 1위를 차지한 당시에도 정경호를 닮은 외모로 화제를 모은 바 있다. 정경호는 지난 17일 개봉한 영화 ‘롤러코스터’ 홍보로 바쁜 나날을 보내고 있다. 

Q. 닮았다는 소리를 많이 들었다. 정확한 건 내가 정용화를 닮은 게 아니라 정용화가 나를 닮은 거다. 내가 형이니까! 하하. 실제로 몇 번 봤는데 닮지 않았던데. 그리고 정용화씨가 훨씬 특출 나다. (나중에 만나서 술 먹을래?)

정용화 :　콜~! 불러만 주신다면... (어디서 기다릴까요~?) 저도　닮았다는 이야기 많이 들었는데, 선배님께 죄송하다는 말씀 드리고 싶어요. 멋있으세요!
 

정용화는 데뷔 이전인 2006년 KBS2 ‘VJ특공대’에 출연한 적이 있었다. 당시 정용화는 한 기획사가 실시한 오디션에 참가한 연예인 지망생 자격으로 출연하며 ‘제2의 이준기’를 꿈꾼다며 자신을 소개하기도 했다. 배우 이준기와 정용화의 또 다른 공통점은 바로 홍정은 홍미란 작가 자매 드라마에서 출연했다는 점. 이준기는 SBS ‘마이걸’, 정용화는 SBS ‘미남이시네요’에서 공통적으로 여자 주인공을 우직하게 지키는 짝사랑 남자 역할을 맡으면서 스타덤에 올랐다.

Q. 노래에 기타도 잘 치시고 연기까지 잘 하시다니 왜 이렇게 욕심이 많으신가요? 모두 다 잘 하시는 비법을 공유해주세요.

정용화 : 흑... 둘 다 잘 하고 싶습니다. ㅠ-ㅠ 많이 가르쳐 주세요!

 2AM의 조권과 정용화는 예능 프로그램을 통해 인연을 쌓았다. 우선 MBC ‘우리 결혼했어요’에서 각각 브라운아이드걸스의 가인과 소녀시대 서현과 부부로 함께 출연했다. 이후 SBS ‘인기가요’에서 함께 MC로 활동하면서 1년 가까이 호흡을 맞췄다.

Q. 모두 다 잘하는 정용화! 가수와 배우 중 꼭 하나를 고른다면?

정용화 : 꼭 하나를 고르자면 가수입니다. 그러나 많은 분들이 연기하는 모습을 찾으시고 원한다면 꼭 둘 다 병행해서 잘하는 모습 보여드리고 싶습니다.
 
애프터스쿨 유이와 정용화도 예능과 드라마에서 심심찮게 호흡을 맞췄다. 비록 유이와 정용화는 SBS ‘미남이시네요’를 통해 현대극 연기를 처음으로 선보인 공통점이 있다. 게다가 SBS 예능 ‘밤이면 밤마다’에서 함께 서브MC로 낙점돼 고정 출연하기도 했다. 유이는 11월 2일 방송될 MBC 주말드라마 ‘황금무지개’ 준비에 박차를 가하고 있다.

Q. ‘미래의 선택’ 잘 보고 있는데 용화씨는 미래로 간다면 몇 년도로 가고 싶은지 그 이유를 알고 싶어요.

정용화 : 흠.. 지금 현재가 좋은데... 꼭 간다면... 아, 가고 싶지 않은데..! 저는 지금이 정말 행복하거든요. 씨엔블루로서 제가 좋아하는 음악을 하고 있고, ‘미래의 선택’의 박세주 역을 맡아 요즘 드라마 촬영을 하는 것도 재미있고요!
 
우리라는 예명으로 활동했던 배우 김윤혜는 KBS시트콤 ‘선녀가 필요해’에서 엄친딸 여고생 차나라 역, tvN 드라마 ‘이웃집 꽃미남’에서 깨금의 첫사랑인 윤서영 역할을 맡은 바 있다. 정용화와는 MBC ‘넌 내게 반했어’에서 함께 호흡을 맞췄다.

Q. ‘미래의 선택’ 잘 보고 있습니다! 요즘 드라마 촬영 때문에 많이 힘들고 바쁘실 텐데 바쁜 스케줄을 소화하는 정용화만의 체력 관리나 스트레스 해소법이 있으신가요?

정용화 : 틈 날 때 자는 것이 최고죠. 그나저나 윤혜씨 잘 지내시죠? '넌 내게 반했어' 이후로 못 봐서 아쉽네요!

배우 윤은혜는 현재 정용화가 출연하고 있는 KBS2 ‘미래의 선택’의 여주인공! 정용화는 제주도에서 나미래(윤은혜)에게 첫 눈에 반한 뒤, 그녀에게 자신의 신분을 숨긴 채 다가가는 재벌 3세 박세주를 연기한다.

Q. ‘미래의 선택’에서 극중 모든 것을 다가진 남자로 나오는데 만약 누군가 나타나서 세주에게 배우자의 성격, 얼굴, 몸매를 선택하라고 한다면 세주의 선택은? (얼굴은 누구 이런 식으로 구체적으로 대답해주세요.ㅋ)

정용화 : 난감한 질문인데... 사실 성격을 가장 크게 보는 편인데... 윤은혜씨 성격 얼굴 몸매라면 완벽하지 않을까요.....? ^^

Q. 이번 ‘미래의 선택’ 드라마가 세 번째 작품인데 앞으로 어떤 역할까지 해보고 싶다?

정용화 : 무엇이든 하고 싶어요. 무엇이든 재미있을 것 같아요.

배우 고두심과 정용화는 ‘미래의 선택’에서 할머니와 손자로 만났다. 사실 고두심은 ‘미래의 선택’에서 정용화를 만나기 전까지 그가 누군지 몰랐다고. 고두심은 ‘미래의 선택’ 제작발표회에서 “다른 사람들의 말을 들어보니 정말 유명한 아이더라”라며 몇 년을 봐온 것처럼 즐겁게 촬영했다고 이야기했다.

Q. 용화와는 이번에 할머니와 손자 역할로 처음 같이 연기하는데 친근한 느낌이 들어서 좋아. 가수로서도 굉장히 매력적이던데 연기할 때와 가수 활동을 할 때 어떤 차이가 있는지 궁금해. 그리고 동남아시아에서 인기가 대단하다고 들었어. 그게 정말 사실이야?^^

정용화 : 고두심 선생님 ~~! 처음부터 선생님께서 엄청 잘해주셔서 저도 편하게 촬영할 수 있었던 것 같습니다. 감사합니다! 가수로 공연을 할 때는 2시간 남짓 되는 시간 동안 행동 하나하나 노래 한 음 한 음 피드백을 바로 바로 주고받는 것이 가장 큰 매력이라고 생각하고 연기는 다른 사람의 삶을 내가 살아본다는 것이 가장 큰 매력이라고 생각합니다. 동남아시아... ㅎㅎ 제 입으로 어떻게...^^ 늘 잘 챙겨주셔서 감사합니다!
 

배우 이동건과 정용화는 같은 소속사 식구! 그리고 정용화가 출연하는 드라마 ‘미래의 선택’에서도 함께 연기를 펼치고 있다. 게다가 이동건과 정용화는 대표적인 닮은꼴 스타! 보통 인연이 아니다!

Q. 용화씨가 맡은 박세주가 반전이 있는 인물인데, 실제 용화씨의 반전이 있다면?

정용화 : 저의 반전이라... 늘 밖에서 즐겁게 웃고 이야기하지만 집에서 향초 켜고 조용히 혼자 있는 것을 좋아합니다. ^^
 

지난 15일 신곡 ‘흔들려’를 발표하고 바쁜 나날을 보내고 있는 걸그룹 AOA는 질문을 위해 직접 정용화와 만났다. 같은 소속사의 선후배로서 응원과 격려를 서로 보내는 가운데, AOA는 정용화에게 당차고 귀엽게 질문했다.

Q. 선배님! 저희들도 ‘미래의 선택’ 잘 보고 있습니다! 드라마에서 선배님이 맡으신 박세주는 나미래(윤은혜 선배님)를 보고 첫눈에 반해 흔들리는 것 같은데 선배님께서도 혹시 최근에 흔들리신 적인 있으신지 궁금합니다!

정용화 : 음.. AOA 때문에 흔들려?~~(ㅋㅋㅋ) AOA 요즘 무대 잘 보고 있습니다. AOA 무대 위 ‘소파춤’ 소품인 소파가 사옥 로비에 있어서 콘셉트 사진을 찍어봤어요. 최근 특별히 흔들렸던 기억은 나지 않네요. ^^

CNBLUE's Jung Yonghwa is an idol star who has shown extensive talent in both singing and acting. JYH first debuted not by singing but acting. In 2009 SBS Drama "You're Beautiful", he became an issue as "Towel Guy" despite being first introduced to the public. As soon as he debuted as CNBLUE, "I'm a Loner" and "Love" became instant hits. From MBC "We Got Married", SBS "Night after Night", and SBS "Running Man"'s most appeared guest, he's already reached peak in variety. Both in singing and acting, he rose to top-class stardom without any period of being nameless. He deserves it from his talents. As the leader and the main vocal of CNBLUE, he's very skillled in writing and composing music, filling up most of album with his own compositions. Although 2011 MBC drama "Heartstrings" was low in ratings, he showed his potential as a lead actor. Presently, JYH is working alongside YEH and LDG as Park Seju, a grandson of the TV network's CEO who hides his identity and does all the grudge work as VJ.  Because of his versatile abilities, the stars' questions were also diverse.

Shortly after his debut, he Jung Yonghwa attracted attention as a look-alike of actor Jung Kyungho. Because of their similar features and same last name, there was rampant rumor that they are brothers. When he ranked top in 2007 at an ulzzang site, he had already been an issue as a JKH look-alike. JKH is busily promoting his new movie "Roller Coaster".

Q. I heard many people say that we look a like. Specifically, it's not me who looks like JYH but JYH looks like me, because I'm the hyung! Haha. I saw him a few times in person but we aren't very similar. Jung Yonghwa-ssi is more exceptional. (Wanna meet for some drinks later?)
A. Sure thing! I'll right there... (where should I wait~?) I also heard that I look like you many times. I want to apologize to sunbaenim. You are so handsome!

In 2006, JYH appeared in KBS2 "VJ Commando" before his debut. He appeared as an auditionee at one entertainment agency, introducing himself as someone who dreams of being "the Next LJG". Actor LJG and JYH has another similarity: they both starred in HJE, HMR sisters' drama.  LJG in SBS "My Girl" and JYH in SBS "YAB" both rose to stardom as the male characters who unidirectionally love the female lead and stays by her side.

Q. You're so good at singing, playing the guitar, and even acting! Why are you so greedy? Please share with us how to do them all well.

2AM's Jo Kwon and JYH were connected by variety programs. First through MBC "WGM" and as MCs in SBS "Inkigayo" for nearly a year.

Q. Jung Yonghwa, who'se talented in everything! If you had to pick between singer and actor?
A. If I had to pick one, it's singer. But if many people anticipate and want me to, I definitely want to do both and show competence in both fields.

Afterschool's UEE and JYH also met often in variety and dramas. They both first debuted in modern drama with SBS "YAB". Also, they were both regulars for SBS "Night after Night". UEE is preparing for her upcoming MBC weekend drama "Golden Rainbow".

Q. I'm enjoying "MHIYD", if you could go to the future, what year would you want to go?
A. Hmm...I like the present. If I had to go...I don't want to go! I'm really happy right now. As CNBLUE, I'm doing the music that I like and I am enjoying the filming of drama as PSJ in MHIYD.

 Actress KYH who was also known as Uri, (her previous works) has worked with JYH in MBC "Heartstrings".

Q. I'm enjoying MHIYD! It must be tiring and busy filming the drama, do you have your own strategy to manage your stamina and relieve stress?
A. It's best to sleep whenever possible. Anyhow, Yunhye-ssi, how are you? I regret that I haven't seen you since "Heartstrings"!

Actress YEH is the female lead for the drama KBS2 MHIYD that JYH currently stars! JYH acts as the 3rd generation chaebol PSJ who falls in love at first sight in Jejudo and gets close to her without revealing his identity.

Q. In MHIYD, you're a guy who has everything. If someone was to appear and make you choose personality, face, and body figure, what would be Seju's choice? (Please answer specifically, for example, the face of this person. k)
A. That's a difficult question to answer... I look for personality the most...perhaps Ms. YEH's personality, face, and body figure would be perfect.....? ^^

Q. MHIYD is your 3rd drama. In the future, what kind of role do you want to try?
A. I want to try anything. Any role would be fun to play.

Actress GDS and JYH met as grandmother and grandson in MHIYD. Actually, GDS didn't know who he was until she met JYH in MHIYD. At the press conference, she said "He was very popular according to those around me", and that it was fun filming with him as if she's known him for years.

Q. It's my first time playing grandmother and grandson with Yonghwa, but I like how it feels like we've known each other. You're very charming as a singer too, I wonder what are differences between acting and singing. And I also heard you're very popular in Southeast Asia. Is that true?^^
A. GDS sunsaengnim~~! It was all thanks to you who made it comfortable for me since the beginning. Thank you! When I perform in a concert as a singer, the most enjoyable for me is that for a duration of nearly 2 hours, I can get instant feedback for every action that I take and every note that I sing. As for acting, it's most fascinating that I get to live a life of someone else. Southeast Asia...hehe, it's not something I can say with my own words...^^ Thank you always for looking after me!

Actor LDG and JYH are the same agency family! He's also acting in the drama MHIYD with JYH. LDG and JYH are also known for looking alike! Not your everyday connection there!

Q. Yonghwa-ssi's character Park Seju has a twist. Is there a twist to the real-life Yonghwa?
A. My twist...Although I'm always laughing and talkative outside, at home, I like being quiet by myself with an aroma candle on.^^

Q. Sunbaenim! We're very much enjoying MHIYD! In the drama, PSJ seems to be shaken when he falls in love with NMR. We're curious if you've been "shaken" recently! (AOA's new song title)
A. Hmm..."shaken" by AOA?~~kekeke I appreciate AOA's performance these days. The sofa for AOA's "sofa dance" was at the agency lobby, so I took a staged photo with them. I don't think I was particularly shaken by something recently.^^

Befitting Jung Yonghwa, who has captured both goals of singing and acting, the stars' questions concentrated on his activities as singer and actor. Many were interested about his new drama, MHIYD. Most of the stars who asked questions said they are enjoying the show and cheered him with words. In his short answers, Jung Yonghwa still came through with his own humble, persevering story. We were able to understand his secret to success.
