춤추는 CNBLUE. 여름 싱글 대 특집

CNBLUE가 여름에 딱 맞는 싱글 Lady를 7월 31일에 발매한다. 디스코적인 분위기가 감도는 "춤추는 CNBLUE"스러운 곡에 대해, 그리고 가사부터 연상되는 "Lady"에 대한 질문을 던져보았다.

-월드투어의 일환으로 올 여름 일본에서는 Zepp투어를 개최하고, 여름 락페스티벌에도 출연하게 된 CNBLUE. 그들이 여름의 콘서트에서 춤추고 싶어지는 그루비한 댄스튠 "Lady"를 발매한다. 야밤의 파티, 타겟이 되는 "Lady", 그녀는 이제 그의 것...이라고, CN의 곡 중에서도 가장 섹시함이 흐르는 이 곡을 테마로, 4인의 사적인 부분을 살펴보았다.

곡에 가장 맞는 단어가 "Lady"였어요

-신곡 "Lady", 이 곡은 일본에서 발매한다는 점을 의식해서 만든 곡인가요?
용화 특별히 그런 건 아니예요. 저는 발매하는 나라에 굳이 구애받지 않는 타입이거든요. 발매하는 시기에 만들어진 곡을 그때그때 내는 느낌입니다.

-여름에 내는 싱글이라는 건 의식하신건가요?
용화 그렇죠. 실은 발라드스러운 곡도 썼는데, 여름에는 어울리지 않는다고 생각해서 이번에는 뺐습니다.

-"Lady"는 어떤 주제로 만들었나요?
용화 여름 락페스티벌에 가면 클럽같은 분위기로 모두 춤추고 분위기가 달아오르잖아요. 그런 이미지로 적었습니다. 저희가 올해 여름 락페스티벌에 나가기도 하고, 이 곡은 디스코적인 분위기가 있어서 청량함도 느낄수 있으니 여름에 딱이라고 생각했어요.

-제목은 어떻게 지으셨나요?
용화 이 곡의 분위기에 가장 잘 맞는 단어가 "Lady"였어요.

-연주해보니 어떠셨나요?
민혁 즐거운 곡이예요. 디스코 리듬이라, 분위기도 업되구요. (드럼) 칠 때도요.
종현 지금은 다시 돌아왔지만, 실은 전 "Blind Love"를 쓴 뒤 조금 작곡을 쉬었었어요. 뭔가 부족하다고 생각되어 음악을 공부하고 있었죠. 그동안 작곡은 용화에게 맡겨두었는데, 그랬더니 굉장히 좋은 곡을 만들어주었네요. "Lady"를 처음 들었을 때, 멋진 곡이라고 생각했어요. 섹시한 분위기도 있고. 여름 느낌이 있죠?
용화 쿨하고 상쾌한 곡이니까요.
종현 이런 디스코적인 곡도 여름에 맞는구나 했어요. 리듬도 좋고. 네?
정신 뭐?
3인 푸하하 (웃음) "뭐?"

-뭐,뭔가요?
정신 저는 말하기 전에 "뭐"라고 말하는 버릇이 있어요. 그걸 다들 놀리는 거예요 (쓴웃음).
종현 "뭐"라는 말은 일본어로 "何?"라는 의미예요.

-그렇군요 (웃음). 정신씨는 "Lady"를 연주해보니 어떻던가요?
정신 다른 멤버들이 말한것처럼 여름에 꼭 맞는 곡이라고 생각했어요. 이 곡, 리듬으로는 처음에 두 버전이 있었죠. 하나는 약간 어려운 리듬이었어요.
용화 그쪽은 들었을때 화려한 느낌인데, 연주가 조금 어려운 느낌이었죠.
정신 다른 하나가 지금의 디스코 리듬. 이 쪽 버전이 결정되어서 분위기를 띄우는 곡이 되었네요. 그래서 앞으로 라이브에서의 연주가 기대됩니다.

-그러면 "Lady"의 가사부터 이것저것 질문해볼게요. 우선, 어떤 "Lady"가 눈앞에 있다면 "I want you"라고 하게 되나요?
용화 너무 귀여우면 너무 생각이 많아져서 오히려 부담이 되어버려요. (웃음) 우선 성격이 맞을 것 같은 사람. 민혁이도 그럴 것 같은데?
민혁 맞아맞아. 가장 중요한건 성격. 우선은 직접 만나서 잘 맞는지 어떤지가 중요해요. 그 다음이 보기에 예쁜 사람이 좋습니다.
종현 저는 필링.
용화 ♪It's just a feeling~ ("feeling"을 부르기 시작)
종현 필링이 맞으면, 아무것도 하지 않아도 좋은 사람이라고 느낄 수 있어요.
정신 저는...저보다 하얀 사람.
용화 그런 사람은 굉장히 많앗 (웃음)
정신 그리고 성격이 맞는 사람.
종현 이렇게 보면 꿈이 커요. 우리 중에 가장 시끄러워 (웃음).
정신 그러니까 많은 여자를 사귀어 본 적이 없으니까, 오히려 그렇게 되어 버리는 거예요.

-그러면, "I want you"라고 생각하는 "Lady"를 만날 경우 어떻게 접근하나요?
민혁 곧바로 잡죠.
3인 이야~~~(웃음). 남자네!
민혁 응? 뭐라고? 잡아서 제대로 사귄다는 것 뿐인데.
용화 저는 잘 모르겠네요. 그때의 분위기나 상황에 따라서일까요. 적극적으로 접근하고 싶은 생각이 들면 가겠지만, 그런 생각이 들지 않으면 안합니다.
종현 저는 필링에 따르는 사람이라, 제가 좋으면 상대방도 저를 당연히 좋아할 거예요. 특별히 접근할 필요는 없어요.
용화 그럴까? 아닐거야~ (웃음)
정신 저는 절대 접근같은걸 하지 못할거예요.
용화 이 사람은 코에 땀이 맺혀있으면 "좋다"는 신호예요. (일동 정신에 주목) 이것 보세요~ 푸하하. 코에 땀이 났어요.
정신 아니라구 (웃음)
민혁 정신이는 매운 요리 사진을 보는 것만으로도 코에 땀이 나니까요.
용화 인간은 말로 생각을 전하지만, 정신이는 말로 하지 않아도 코로 전할 수 있습니다. (일동 빵터짐)
정신 자, 이제부터는 다들 만날때도, (손으로 코를 가리고) "안녕하세요" 해야지. (일동 대폭소)
용화 코 전용 데오드란트, 몇개 사줄까? (웃음)
정신 (웃음) 그럼, 질문에 대한 저의 답은 "못한다" 예요. 예전엔 여성과 대화도 잘 못했던 타입이라서요. 지금은 그렇진 않지만 그래도 제가 조금이라도 맘에 드는 여자분이 눈앞에 있으면 분명 저는 아무 말도 못할거라고 생각해요.

-자 씨엔블루 중에서 가장 여성에게 적극적으로 가는 타입은?
종현 그럴때 막 들이대는 사람은 한명도 없는것 같아요.

-그럼, 무대에서가 아닌 밤이 되면 섹시한 남자로 변모하는 사람이라면?
용화 우선, 남자가 남자를 보고 섹시하다고 생각하진 않으니까, 그건 잘 모르겠어요.
정신 저희는 밤이 되면 섹시한게 아니라 시끄러워지는 남자들이예요.

-무대 위에서 가장 섹시한 멤버라면?
용화 (즉각) 틀림없이 접니다!
민혁 용화형이요. 행동 하나하나가요.
종현 섹시하네요.
용화 아아~. 그런 섹시한 움직임은 의식하지 않고도 자연스레 나와버려요. 우하하핫 (웃음). 평소에는 그런 부분은 전부 숨겨져있지만.
종현 크흐흐흣 (웃음) 그렇지. 저는 스스로 일을 열심히 하는 사람은 누구나 섹시하다고 생각해요. 단지 정신이는 연주를 열심히 하면 땀을 많이 흘려서 조금 안 멋지긴 하지만 (웃음)
정신 뭐라고-!!
종현 괜찮아. 정신이는 귀여우니까 (미소)

-"Lady"는 춤추게 하는 곡인데요, 다들 가끔씩은 클럽에서 파티를 즐기며 밤을 보내기도 하시나요?
전원 전혀 안 가요.
정신 클럽에 가지 않아도 집이나 차에서 춤은 추죠?
용화 차가 그걸로 날아가버릴 만큼 (웃음).
민혁 차 안에서 춤추고 싶어지는 음악을 틀고, 몸을 움직이거나 해요.

-그럼 이제부터 투어와 락페스티벌에서 "Lady"를 공연할 땐, 멤버분들도 관객들도 Party란 느낌으로.
용화 마구마구 춤 춥시다!

Dancing CNBLUE, Summer Single Special Feature
CNBLUE will release the perfect summer single "Lady" on July 31. We asked them questions on this disco-esque track full of "Dancing CNBLUE" as well as "Lady" as inspired from the lyrics.

-The new single "Lady"--was this created with releasing location as Japan in mind?
YH Not necessarily. I'm the type that doesn't limit myself to the country I'm releasing. I tend to release songs I wrote according to the release time.

-So you mean you had in mind that it's being released in summer?
YH Yes. In fact, I wrote a ballad song as well but it didn't seem to go with summer. So I took it out.

-What was the theme of "Lady"?
YH At summer rock festivals, it's like a club where everyone dances and the atmosphere heats up. That's the image I had while writing. We're appearing in rock festivals this year, and since this song has disco-like elements that sound cool, it suits summer.

-How did you come up with the title?
YH "Lady" was the word that sounded the best with this song.

-How was it when you played it with instruments?
MH It's a fun song. The disco rhythm really raises the excitement. Even when I'm just drumming.
JH I'm back ow, but actually after writing "Blind Love" I had a break from composing. I thought I still lacked the skills so I was studying music. During that time I'd left songwriting to Yonghwa, turns out he wrote a superb song. When I first heard "Lady", I thought it was a great song. It has that sexy vibe, the summer feeling.
YH It's a cool and refreshing tune.
JH I thought, wow this kind of disco song fits summer well. The rhythm's great, too. Huh?
JS "Mwo?"
Three: Bahahaha (laugh) "Mwo?"

-...What is it?
JS Before I speak, I tend to say "Mwo"  That's what everyone's teasing me about (laughs bitterly)
JS "Mwo" in Japanese means "What?"

-I see (laughs). How was recording "Lady", Js?
JS Just like the other members said, I thought it fits summer perfectly. This song had two versions of rhythms. One was a bit difficult.
YH When you hear that one, it sounds fancy, but playing the instruments to it was difficult.
JS The other one was the disco rhythm we have now. In the end, this one was picked so it became a song that brings up the atmosphere. I'm really looking forward to our live performances.

-Then let me ask you starting with the lyrics of "Lady". First, what kind of "Lady" would you say "I want you"?
YH If she's too cute, I'll have too many thoughts and rather feel pressured (laughs). First, someone whose personality would go along with mine. I think MH would be like that, too?
MH Right, right. The most important is the personality. It's important to meet her in person and find out whether we fit well or not. Then someone who's beautiful to look at.
JH As for me, the feeling.
YH ♪It's just a feeling~ (starts to sing "feeling")
JH If the feeling's right, I can feel that I like her regardless of what she does.
JS To me...someone fairer than me.
YH There are so many people like that! (laughs)
JS And someone who has a similar personality as mine.
JH See, he has the highest standards. The loudest out of all of us (laughs).
JS Well, I haven't gone out with many women, so I rather get this way.

-If you meet a "Lady" that makes you think "I want you", how do you approach her?
MH I'd get her right away.
Other 3: Wow~~~(laugh) You're the man!
MH Huh? What? I'm just saying I'll get her so she'd be my girlfriend.
YH I'm not sure. It'll depend on the atmosphere or the situation. If I feel like I want to be proactive enough to approach, I would, but not if I don't feel like it.
JH I follow my feelings, so if I like her she'll definitely like me back. I don't need to approach her necessarily.
YH You think so? Probably not~ (laughs)
JS I'll never be able to approach or anything like that.
YH If there's sweat on his nose, that's a sign that he likes her. (Everyone looks at JS) See? Bahaha. His nose is sweating.
JS NOT. (laughs)
MH JS gets sweaty on the nose just by looking at pictures of spicy food.
YH Humans deliver what they think by talking, but it's unnecessary for JS 'cuz he can just do it by nose. (All laugh)
JS Well, from now on when I meet everyone I'll be like (hides nose with hand) "Hello". (All crack up)
YH Should I get you some nose-only deodorant?
YH (Laughs) To answer your question, "I can't". I used to not be able to speak to women. I'm not that way now, but if there's a lady I have a crush on is in front of me, I'm sure I can't say anything.

-So who's the most proactive type toward women?
JH I don't think any of us are too forward about it

-Then, not on stage but at night, who turns into a sexy guy?
YH Well, a man looking at a ma doesn't think of him as sexy so I'm not sure.
JS At night, we don't become sexy, we just get talkative.

-Who's the sexiest member on stage?
YH (Right away) Doubtlessly, that's me!
MH YH hyung. Each and every action he takes.
JH Is sexy.
YH Aw~~. Such sexy moves come out naturally without conscious effort. Hahahat (laughs). Normally that side is all hidden.
JH Keheheheh (laughs) Right. I think anybody who works hard is sexy. But when JS plays hard, he sweats a lot so it's a little uncool. (laughs)
JS What-!!
JH That's okay. JS's cute (smiles)

-"Lady" is a danceable tune. Do you sometimes spend the night partying at clubs?
All We never go.
JS We don't go clubbing, but we'd dance at home or in our cars, right?
YH As much so that the car almost flys (laughs)
MH I'd turn on danceable music and move my body sometimes.

-Then from now on, when you perform "Lady" at tours and festivals, members and audience alike should "party".
YH LET'S DANCE!!
