【E】'미래의선택' 정용화, 부드러움 지운 '독설 세주' 변신 'MHIYD' Jung Yonghwa Transforms into 'Sharp-Tongued Seju'

정용화는 KBS2 새 월화드라마 ‘미래의 선택’(극본 홍진아, 연출 권계홍)에서 비밀을 간직한 방송국 YBS의 신입 VJ이자 언더커버 보스인 박세주 역을 맡았다. 부드러움으로 정체를 감추고 있지만 날카로운 카리스마를 표출하는 두 얼굴의 매력으로 연기 변신을 예고하고 있다.

8일 제작진을 통해 정용화의 촬영 스틸사진이 공개됐다. 후계자의 도도한 모습으로 무심한 듯 시크하게 반전 매력을 드러내는 그의 모습에 호기심이 증폭되고 있다.

정용화가 카리스마를 분출하는 이 장면의 촬영은 지난달 25일 제주도의 한 호텔에서 진행됐다. 일찍부터 현장에 등장한 정용화는 촬영을 준비 중인 스태프들에게 일일이 환한 미소로 인사를 건네는 등 친근한 분위기를 이끌었다. 장난스런 농담을 건네면서도 대본을 손에서 놓지 않은 채 쉼 없이 대사와 지문을 확인해가며 다양한 눈빛과 제스처를 연습한 것으로 전해진다.

무엇보다 정용화는 품격 있는 슈트 맵시를 통해 ‘모태 비주얼’을 발산하며 시선을 집중시켰다. 짙은 스트라이프의 쓰리피스 슈트에 타이와 행커치프까지 갖춘 채 재벌가 후계자 박세주의 면모를 드러낸 것이다. 편한 캐주얼 차림으로 자유로움을 드러냈던 신입 VJ의 모습에서 벗어나, 태초부터 우월한 럭셔리 비주얼을 선보여 스태프들의 찬사를 받았다는 후문이다.

정용화는 해외와 국내를 오가는 정신없이 이어지는 바쁜 스케줄 속에서도 캐릭터의 감정선은 물론 대사와 지문 하나하나까지 꼼꼼하게 체크하는 열혈 의욕을 쏟아내고 있다는 귀띔이다.

‘미래의 선택’은 보다 나은 나 자신을 위해 미래의 내가 찾아와 어드바이스를 해주고 다른 운명을 개척할 수 있도록 새로운 선택의 방향을 제시해주는, 독특하고 새로운 전개 방식의 ‘신(新) 타임슬립’ 드라마다. ‘굿 닥터’ 후속으로 오는 14일 첫 방송된다.

Jung Yonghwa exploded with "chilling charisma" befitting the successor of a media mogul family.

In the new KBS2 Mon-Tues drama "Marry Him If You Dare", Jung Yonghwa will play the role of Park Seju who is a secretive rookie VJ as well as the undercover boss at TV station YBS. Though hiding his true self with gentleness, he will occasionally exude sharp charisma to show Janus-like charms.

Jung Yonghwa was seen pouring harsh words in cold voice, revealing acidic charisma hidden under his tender face. His indifferent yet chic, "reverse-charm" look as the successor to media chaebol family is increasingly drawing curiosity.

The scene where JYH's charisma erupted was filmed at a hotel in Cheju Island on the 25th of last month. JYH, who arrived at the set early, led a friendly atmosphere by greeting each and every staff with a bright smile. While making humorous jokes, he never let go of the script from his hands, restlessly checking his lines and directions, practicing many different gazes and gestures. When the shooting began, he perfectly portrayed the absolute aura of the undercover boss Park Seju.

More than anything, JYH emanated "natural-born visual" with a classy look in a suit, attracting everyone's attention. Styled in a dark, striped three-piece suit, with a tie and a handkerchief, he revealed the side of Park Seju as the successor in a chaebol family. Transformed from the comfortable, casual style that presented freedom of a rookie VJ, JYH's display of superior, luxurious visual since birth received praise from the staff. The female staff who were watching JYH film passionately exclaimed, "JYH in a suit is the best!! It looks like a real, cold and daunting chaebol family successor appeared here."

In an effort to perfectly portray the extreme two sides of being both a rookie VJ and undercover boss, JYH is burning with unmatched passion. Despite the busy schedule that takes him back and forth between overseas and Korea, he is full of ardor, meticulously checking the character's emotional tone as well as every line and direction.

The production company Annex Telecom remarked, "JYH is handily transforming between the two characters with extremely different personalities, embodying 100% of PSJ. Please look forward to JYH's new transformation as an actor."
